The most recent Auction at Graceland was held last Saturday, March 4 as part of the Grand Opening of  “Elvis Presley’s Memphis” Entertainment Complex. With a wide variety of authenticated artifacts to offer, all types of collectors bid at the auction. Of particular note the auction included artifacts from the collection of the late Scotty Moore as well as items from Elvis’ personal and professional life including clothing, jewelry, autographs, concert memorabilia and Hollywood items. All of the items in the auction were from third-party collectors. Among the 163 items included the following items received the highest bids:
  • 1957 RCA Award to Colonel Parker for making "That's When Your Heartaches Begin" a Million Seller sold for highest bid on the night selling for $18,750
  • Elvis owned Gold and Diamond Cocktail Ring Gifted to Charlie Hodge Final Price: $16,250
  • Elvis owned Gold and Diamond Panther Head Ring Gifted to Tour Promoter Tom Hulett.  Elvis appears to be wearing this ring in the same pictures where he is wearing the Turban or Swami Ring.  Final Bid: $15,000
  • Elvis Presley Owned and Heavily Notated Copy of The Impersonal Life Gifted to His Aunt Delta. Final Price: $8,125.00
  • Scotty Moore's Gold Record Award for 1954 Sun Record "That's All Right," which was Estimated at $2,000 went for Final Price: $5,250
  • 1960 Elvis Presley Signed Lease for Apartments at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel Where He Lived While Filming "G.I. Blues," Final Price: $4,250
  • Elvis Presley Twice-Signed Promotional Photo, Final Price: $4,000

One Night At The Printer

The 352 page book 'One Night In Toronto' by Paul Sweeney, Jean-Marc Carisse and Erik Lorentzen has been completed and at the printers. Author Paul Sweeney comments, "There are over 300 photos from before, during and after the two shows from the John Sebert Collection at Library & Archives Canada. I was blown away when I first set eyes on them earlier this year - our photos are taken from the original negatives"
