March 14 - Chart Update (Updated 18/03)

The weekly global chart update. Elvis Presley's album and DVD releases drop on most charts.

A new trend in the UK is giving a back catalogue a classic twist. According to the Official Chart company the trend was kicked off with the 2015 "If I Can Dream" album by Elvis Presley and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
It shot straight to Number 1, giving Elvis his 12th Number 1 album, and shifting 1.19 million in combined sales. Elvis also overtook Robbie Williams to be the male solo artist with the most UK Number 1 albums, and went further in front with 2016's The Wonder of You, again with the RPO, clocking up a 13th chart-topper and 570,000 across all formats. Christmas with Elvis and the RPO went Top 10 in 2017.
Elvis Presley outsold the RPO-releases with Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, the Beach Boys,  Aretha Franklin and the Carpenters.
