January 17 - Released: Elvis Sings ...

The Spanish El Toro Records released three EPs; “Elvis Sings Don Robertson” on clear red vinyl, “Elvis Sings Pomus & Shuman” on clear transparent vinyl and “Elvis Sings Stan Kesler” on clear yellow vinyl.

Details “Elvis Sings Stan Kesler”:

Side A : I Forgot To Remember To Forget. / I'm Left You're Right She's Gone
Side B: Playing For Keeps / Thrill Of Your Love

First of three volumes specially released to commemorate the King's 85th anniversary! Like Elvis, musician and songwriter Stan Kesler began his career at Sun Records in Memphis. A master of the clever song title, Stan pitched "I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone" to Elvis in 1955 and followed up with "I Forgot to Remember to Forget" and, since Elvis' move to RCA, the other two songs featured on this EP.

Details “Elvis Sings Pomus & Shuman”:

Second of three volumes specially released to commemorate the King's 85th anniversary! Both born in Brooklyn although over ten years apart, Jerome "Doc" Pomus and Mort Shuman have rightly become one of the most successful song-writing partnerships during the rock 'n' roll years. Their first for Elvis was 1960's "A Mess of Blues" and they have gone on to pitch these other great songs at the King.

Side A: Little Sister / Gonna Get Back Home Somehow
Side B: A Mess of Blues / His Latest Flame

Details “Elvis Sings Don Robertson”:

Third of three volumes specially released to commemorate the King's 85th anniversary! A talented pianist and composer, Don Robertson co-wrote the million-selling "I Really Don't Want to Know" for Eddy Arnold in 1953 and secured one of his songs, the beautiful ballad "I'm Counting on You", on Elvis' debut LP in 1956. Since then he has successfully pitched these other songs at Elvis and has played on a film soundtrack for the King.

Side A: I'm Counting On You / I'm Yours
Side B: No More / There's Always Me

Elvis In Bronze

In less than 1 year and 5 months after the start of the campaign to collect 15,330 Euro for a life-size bronze Elvis Presley sculpture - to be placed at the American Bridge in the German town of Bad Nauheim where Elvis lived while stationed in Germany - the goal has been reached. The bridge is under restoration and the statue will be formed using 3D print technology and hopefully find his place later this year.
