March 12 - Coronavirus Hits Elvis Movie

Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have unfortunately both tested positive for coronavirus while working in Australia for the pre-production of Baz Luhrmann’s untitled Elvis Presley film from Warner Bros.

In a statement, the studio said it became aware that someone in the production was diagnosed with coronavirus, and it is working with Australian health agencies to make sure that the production is safe. The film is currently slated for release October 1, 2021.

A statement directly from Hanks:

“Hello, folks.  Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.

Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?

We’ll keep the world posted and updated.
Take care of yourselves!”

Speedway / Stay Away Joe Poster

Just when you thought Erik Lorentzen would retire he announced a new  "Double Features" book special on the movies "Speedway" and "Stay Away Joe" featuring hundreds previously unpublished images from the movie and "behind the scenes" of the movies.

"I had planned to retire after the TTWII Box Set but after getting my hands on another set of hundreds of unseen photos I have decided to do at least two more. I was afraid that if I did not publish this book, the photos will be unseen forever, and I can't stand that thought.

Beside, I love what I'm doing! As with most of my books there are several writers and reviews involved but most of all it is about all the unseen  photos. Of the 400 or so photos in the book and around 300 of them are 100% unseen."

All the photographers are taken from original negatives and slides. The book will be published as a 2020 "Easter Special". When you pre-order the book you get a free poster.
