Stuchbury posted on Facebook: Throughout Elvis’ career you’d see Colonel Parker using phrases like ‘By Request’ and ‘By Popular Demand!’

With that it mind I’m going to explain that I’ve recently completed a couple of projects that I had no intention of moving forward with, until now.

People have asked, people have pestered, so there is clearly a demand for them. So, now, by request and by popular demand, here is the first of them.

Marian Justice Cocke Died

Elvis' former nurse Marian Justice Cocke died. She was 98. R.I.P.

Cocke was Elvis Presley’s nurse from 1975 to 1977. She began taking care of Elvis in January 1975 while he was a patient at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis and continued to take care of him during later hospitalizations and at Graceland until the end in August 1977.

Her tasks while working at Graceland-where she would sometimes roommate with Presley's daughter, Lisa Marie-included checking Presley's blood pressure and dispensing his medications. As his friend and nurse, she would often talk with him through the late hours of the night when he had trouble sleeping.

The years 1975 to 1977 will likely be the most memorable of Marian's nursing career. Though she openly admits she was never a fan of Elvis' before meeting him, she soon found herself to be a fan and a loyal friend. Elvis gifted her several pieces of jewelry, including a TLC necklace and a 1976 Pontiac Grand Prix. Cocke wrote a book about her time with Elvis titled 'I Called Him Babe'.

She continued to proudly share memories of her friend Elvis right up until her death.

Priscilla and Lisa Marie remained close with Marion, and posted: “Marian you will be greatly missed. Your spirit touched many people and especially Elvis. You were the person that he always counted on. Thank you for always taking care of him”. -P.

Larry Geller added: The Elvis world will always remember Nurse Marion Cocke.  For many years she hosted a memorial banquet at the Peabody Hotel.  It was one of the highlights of Elvis week, with all proceeds going to charity.

May she rest in peace and may her memory be forever a blessing.
