Due for release from Kino Lorber on August 8, 2017 is the debut release of the 'Frankie And Johnny' and 'Clambake' movies on Blu-ray. Now the details and cover-art are available.
Details Frankie And Johnny:
The Mississippi River's never seen as many wild twists as in this spirited and extravagant riverboat ride which stars the King of Rock 'n' Roll Elvis Presley (Clambake) with the lovely Donna Douglas (TV s The Beverly Hillbillies) and featuring hilarious support from Harry Morgan (Support Your Local Sheriff) and eleven original Presley tunes, Frankie and Johnny is a sure-fire romp with pretty girls, toe-tapping score and Elvis all the way. Presley is Johnny, a riverboat singer whose life, according to girlfriend and singing partner Frankie (Douglas), has become "one great big roulette wheel." And he's so obsessed with that wheel of misfortune that when a gypsy woman prescribes a redhead to be his good luck charm, Johnny sets out to find one. Trouble is, Frankie is most definitely a blonde... and a jealous blonde at that. When she sees Johnny with curvaceous carrot-top Nellie Bly (Nancy Kovack, Jason and the Argonauts), Frankie decides that she'll break off her romance with Johnny. The wonderful supporting cast includes Sue Ane Langdon (The Rounders) and Robert Strauss (Stalag 17).
Format: Anamorphic, NTSC, Widescreen
Run Time: 87 minutes
Details Clambake:
Rock n Roll legend Elvis Presley (Frankie and Johnny) sizzles as a lovelorn million-heir in this riveting and romantic musical romp with eight original Elvis tunes. Vying for the attentions of the lovely Shelley Fabares (Girl Happy, Spinout), Elvis finds himself caught up in a rivalry with playboy Bill Bixby (TV s The Incredible Hulk) against a tuneful background of comedy, romance and speedboat racing. Clambake is pleasing escape entertainment and the wildest party to hit the beach since they invented the beach ball. It's a hip version of The Prince and the Pauper as Elvis relinquishes his oil baron father's fortune and trades identities with a penniless water ski instructor (Will Hutchins, TV s Sugerfoot) to learn about life from the bottom up. Short on cash but long on determination, he repairs a radically designed powerboat in order to win the regatta and the affection of a girl who's determined to marry rich. Gary Merrill (All About Eve) co-stars in this fun-filled comedy musical.
Special Features:
Audio commentary by Videodrome (Gideon Kennedy, Matt Owensby and John Robinson) -- Opened in 1998, Videodrome is now Atlanta, Georgia's only video rental store.
Trailers for Clambake and Frankie and Johnny
Format: Anamorphic, NTSC, Widescreen

The Vintage Rock magazine has Elvis Presley n the cover of it's latest edition. With the 40th anniversary of Elvis’ passing fast approaching, we felt it was time to take stock.
Here’s a legend of rock’n’roll past who’s now likely worth well over $400 million, and there’s no signs that his flourishing afterlife is set to diminish one iota. Presidents may come and go, but Elvis, it seems, will always be among us – and if the recent starry-eyed chart-topping albums produced in conjunction with the Royal Philharmonic are anything to go by, his music is still very much in demand four decades after his death.
Those albums meant finally Elvis took the title for most #1 UK solo albums, so there are clearly still new fans discovering Elvis, while for others his music forms an immovable mainstay of their playlists.
Graceland, his palatial home in Memphis, attracts over half a million pilgrims a year (second only to the White House in visitor numbers); there are now more Elvis impersonators than ever before, and Presley memorabilia is still very much on the up and up.
He may not be living on the moon, but for all intents and purposes Elvis Presley is still alive and kicking. And whilst every exacting detail about his mammoth catalogue is out there, from all the various outtakes through to the minutiae behind every song, there are still plenty of layers to be peeled back to reveal the human being living within the shell of the ‘King Of Rock’n’Roll’.
How much of Elvis’ life was out of his control? How many of his choices were actually his own? In this special tribute, we attempt to unlock the complex machinations of a man whose fame had entirely taken over his existence; a man who seemed to be in search of something bigger – and a man who relied on a network of others, whether he wanted to or not.
From his relationship with manager Colonel Tom Parker to his various band members, his infamous Memphis Mafia clique and beyond, we explore the inside stories that shed light on the inner workings of Elvis Aaron Presley.
Few people outside his inner circle got to see the human being as he was: introspective, caring and – in many ways – forever bound to his chosen path. It’s a double-edged sword if ever there was one.

From the press-release:
August 1973, Elvis Is back for his last summer season. The 1973 was begun in the better way, with the Aloha special at least commercial talking. But the things turned immediately toward the wrong direction, the man had too weight to bear in his human shoulders. But as always for Elvis the music keeps his mind alive and overall active, so the best moments of our man is when he is on the stage. The August 1973 is no exception.
The August 19 present Elvis in positive mood, the show is solid and well performed. Elvis deliveries some killer version of My Boy and You Gave Me a Mountain, keeping steady part of the show the two classic Suspicious Minds and An American Trilogy and delighting the audience with the with the two early rocker Mystery Train/Tiger Man and Trouble.
Talking about the show, the show is solid and well performed no too long in accord with the classic Las Vegas show, we have 46 minutes only, but Elvis worked hard performing 19 songs, classic representation of his best repertoire of Vegas. Talking of highlight of the show, we can say is hard however is undeniable that Elvis’ soul lives now in the power ballad like You Gave a Mountain or My Boy, surely they are the best moment of the show.
This recording come from an early generation copy of the master tape, the sound quality is very good. The sound was restored in matter to remove the background noise and preserving Elvis’ voice and trying to achieve best possible results. We have spent hours in the studio over the digital restoration of the sound, to give you the chance to hear it with pleasure.
This new CD comes as a classic deluxe Digipack four panels (12x12 cm), containing a collection of live photographs from the actual season. All the copies will come hand numbered and individually sealed. This is a limited edition of 400 copies.

Sony released a press-release on the upcoming 'A Boy From Tupelo' set which is the definitive collection of Elvis’ Sun-era recordings in one comprehensive package. From the EPE state you can also buy versions with additional merchandise like t-shirts and mugs.
A Boy From Tupelo – The Complete 1953-1955 Recordings includes–for the first time in one collection–every known Elvis Presley Sun Records master and outtake, plus the mythical Memphis Recording Service Acetates–“My Happiness”/”That’s When Your Heartaches Begin” (recorded July 1953) and “I’ll Never Stand in Your Way”/”It Wouldn’t Be the Same (Without You)” (recorded January 4, 1954)–the four songs Elvis paid his own money to record before signing with Sun. A Boy From Tupelo – The Complete 1953-1955 Recordings includes every Elvis live performance and radio recording known to exist from the period.
Essential to the understanding and appreciation of Elvis and his explosive impact on pop music and culture, A Boy From Tupelo – The Complete 1953-55 Recordings presents–in the best possible sound– every known Presley recording from his early career, when the world’s first atomic singer fused blues, pop and hillbilly country swing to create an electrifying new music that changed the world.
A Boy From Tupelo – The Complete 1953-1955 Recordings also includes a 120-page book formatted as an illustrated travelogue and datebook chronicling the genesis of Elvis’ early career via facts, anecdotes, memorabilia and many rare photos. Independence Day 1954 is when this unique American saga begins, less than 24 hours before his first professional recording session, and it ends in December 1955, when the singer leaves Sun Records to record for RCA. The material is organized by calendar entries. During the months July through October 1954, the majority of the calendar is empty, as Elvis had his daytime job with Crown Electric, and music making was confined to the weekends and evening hours. This is Elvis Presley before he becomes world-famous, and an account of how this amazing young man readies himself for stardom, a young man on the pinnacle of an unprecedented level of success. “A boy from Tupelo” would become much more than a world-famous superstar, he would become ELVIS!
Behind the making of A Boy From Tupelo – The Complete 1953-55 Recordings lie more than 1,500 hours of restoration work and nearly 200 hours of additional studio time devoted to the painstaking remastering of the material. The results are stunning. A Boy From Tupelo – The Complete 1953-55 Recordings is produced, researched and written by Ernst Mikael Jørgensen.
Disc one of A Boy From Tupelo – The Complete 1953-1955 Recordings covers the masters Elvis recorded for Sun Records, some variations, and the four sides he paid for himself. Disc two covers all known outtakes, even just the smallest surviving fragments. Disc three covers all the live and radio recordings known to exist.
On July 28th, Legacy Recordings will also release A Boy From Tupelo: The Sun Masters, a single disc 12″ vinyl package that chronicles the rise of Elvis Presley before he became The King of Rock and Roll. Recorded with producer Sam Phillips, guitarist Scotty Moore and bassist Bill Black during his first incredible year as a professional recording artist (July 1954-July 1955), this collection includes Elvis’ complete single A and B-sides for Sun Records, plus additional songs recorded at Sun Studio and released on his landmark self-titled debut album in 1956.

I was in a youth hostel in St. Malo, France, listening to, believe it or not, Jean Michel Jarre's new sensational and innovative album Oxygene, booming over the hostel's sound system! The headline 'Elvis Est Mort' I can still remember it so clearly today, and I wasn't even an Elvis fan! So this is Avid's tribute to the great man. Listen, reflect and enjoy. Long Live The King!
Sky Arts commissions new doc about Elvis Presley
European pay-TV operator Sky Arts has commissioned a new documentary from Fireball TV and copro and distributor Raydar Media about the legendary singer Elvis Presley.
The Seven Ages of Elvis (1×90) goes on a search to explore who Presley was and his impact on pop culture. Using Shakespeare’s “Seven Ages of Man” as a framework, the film examines his life act by act: from his impoverished childhood in the American South, through his rise to international fame, to his Las Vegas years and his death in 1977.
Combining archive material with personal testimonies from those who knew Presley best, the film sheds new light on his global success and asks why audiences are still drawn to him decades after his death.
The doc is slated to premiere this year as to mark the 40th anniversary of the singer’s passing.
The Seven Ages of Elvis was commissioned by Barbara Lee, commissioning editor, Sky Arts. David Upshal is the producer and director; Alison Rayson, executive producer; Iris Maor, head of production; and Will Yates, producer.

Due from RCA Legacy on July 28, 2017 is the 3 CD set ’A Boy from Tupelo’. Due one day later from the same label is the vinyl album ’A Boy from Tupelo: the Sun Masters’.
Due from the Not Now Music label on June 16, 2017 are two new 3 CD sets; 'Elvis in the 50's' and 'Elvis in the 60's'.
Product Description 50's box:

There's a reason they called Elvis Presley the King. It wasn't just the swagger in his hips, the suggestive onstage dancing, or the sly smile that set female hearts and loins alight wherever he went. As this 3CD set, drawn from his 1950s recordings proves, Elvis' voice was nothing less than sensational - warm and humorous, pleading and teasing and full of promise. Elvis could cajole or roar as the occasion demanded. He was capable of interpreting a lyric in a way that made it hard to imagine anybody else covering that song. And he sang this mixture of blues and country and soul - this new thing they were starting to call rock'n'roll.
Product Description 60's box:
Hard to believe now, but when Elvis Presley was conscripted into the US Army in 1958, the King of Rock & Roll was convinced his career was over! Elvis was certain his teenage fans wouldn t wait for two whole years, and believed that his crown would be stolen by a singer he admired hugely - Roy Orbison. But, as we now know, Elvis returned to the real world in triumph in 1960, as this fascinating 3CD package drawn from his early 1960s recordings vividly demonstrates.
