September 19 - Elvis' Golden Records

Following the announcement of the release of the 1974 live concert vinyl sets, Erik Lorentzen's World Records / TCB Tapes recordlabel announced the release of newly created stereo editions of 'Elvis' Golden Records' volumes 1 to 4 on vinyl on 4 albums. The site states "coming soon".

Also listed, is a new stereo version of 'Elvis Live at Burbank Studios Stand-up Shows' volumes 1 to 4 (4 albums). All mixed by the best sound engineers at Norfolk Studios according to the update.

Golden Records Volume 1 and 2

Due at the of September from the RDM-Edition record label is the CD 'Golden Elvis', featuring the first two volumes of 'Elvis' Golden Records' in pristine Mono II Stereo mixes. 

You can listen to three tracks making their world premiere, 'Hound Dog', 'Jailhouse Rock', and 'Wear My Ring Around Your Neck', as well as an interview with the great Anthony Stuchbury, the producer behind the CD, (and some other golden oldies by great artists) on the latest edition of Matt Shepherd's 'Golden Years' radio show.

Elvis Tribute

The Danish Memphis Mansion released a new vinyl maxi-single tribute single titled 'Old Friend' by Colin Paul. The single also contains 'King Creole' and 'Love Me Tender' by Elvis Presley.

Destination Louisville

Jon Daly announced the release of the A4-sized, 92-page book 'Destination Louisville - June 26, 1974', co-written by Arjan Deelen and with a contribution from Duke Bardwell. 

Publicity stated: You see Elvis before the show, during the concert and after. Many of the photos are close-ups and razor-sharp. Elvis wore his beautiful Peacock costume that was brand new at the time.

During this tour Elvis delivered some great shows and in this book you experience it all. Besides circa 100 previously unpublished colour photos, taken by Ramonda Brady from the front row at Elvis’ Louisville concert on June 26, 1974, this book also features documentation for the show from Colonel Parker's office, newspaper clippings and other memorabilia. 

It also includes the heartwarming story of the fan who took these photos from the front row. Duke Bardwell, who was Elvis' bass player at the time, put his memories on paper especially for this book. It has become a special book that gives readers a unique picture of this period.

Pre-orders come with a free vinyl single containing two restored home-recordings of 'Spanish Eyes / Let Me Be The One', recorded April 1974.
