The Japanese Happinet Corporation announced the November 22, 2026 release of the 'EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert' on Blu-ray and on DVD.
Publicity stated: A one-of-a-kind entertainer's unseen footage, revived with cutting-edge technology, brings Elvis "to Japan" for the first time.
Beloved by countless artists including the Beatles, Queen, and Michael Jackson, and known as the King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis Presley returns in this film. Director Baz Luhrmann uncovered over 60 hours of never-before-seen footage while making his film "Elvis," then spent more than two years restoring and remastering it into this newly reimagined visual work.
The film features more than 70 songs, including hits like 'Can't Help Falling in Love', 'Hound Dog' and 'Burning Love' plus rare moments such as Elvis casually rehearsing the Beatles' 'Something' with his band. Interview footage from television and radio, in which he speaks candidly about his upbringing and the loneliness and inner conflict of superstardom, adds compelling depth.
Baz Luhrmann, who also made the movie 'ELVIS' in 2022, a huge fan of Elvis himself, directed the movie and brought meticulous care and playful touches to the way the film syncs footage, music, and Elvis's own words.
The discs come housed in a tri-fold outer case, featuring the theatrical release poster art, along with an included 8-page booklet.
Shelley Fabares Died
Shelley Fabares died. She was 82. On the big screen, Fabares starred opposite Presley, she was the only leading lady to co-star alongside Elvis in three feature films: 'Girl Happy' (1965), 'Spinout' (1966) and Clambake (1967).
The Emmy-nominated actress was one of Elvis' favourite co-stars and there was a lovely chemistry between them. "I ended up doing three pictures with Elvis, and that was wonderful," she said in a 2024 interview. "We always knew doing the pictures that they weren’t good, but we had a wonderful time doing them. Getting to do three with him was amazing fun ... It's a happy memory for me, they were great fun."
