January 29 - Spring Break In Las Vegas With Priscilla

The Millbranch import record label released the double LP 'Spring Break In Las Vegas' featuring the March 22nd, 1975 Midnight performance as recorded at the Las Vegas Hilton.

Publicity stated: Right in time for the end of this year Millbranch Music continues with its high quality vinyl releases, made for the real fan and limited as usual: 200 copies made on black vinyl and on transparent violet vinyl.

'Spring Break In Las Vegas' is a beautiful 2-LP set with printed innersleeves, containing intensive liner notes, and containing a newly restored soundboard recording of the March 22nd, 1975 Midnight show performance at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel! And even more material from Elvis ́ shows in March of 1975!

This concert was released for the first time on the legendary 'Profile' CD-Box-Set in 1996 (Volume 2) and immediately found its way to the “Top Ten” of highly appreciated 1970 ́s Elvis concerts, mainly because of its perfect song selection, which fitted Elvis so well in spring of 1975, but also because it is easy to recognize, that Elvis had a great time on stage and did sing great and with passion this evening.

The recording is now sourced from the original digital master, and Millbranch Music presents a newly remastered Stereo-version which reveals details never heard before!

March 22nd, 1975: It was the week before Easter, the night of the nationwide “Easter Seals Telethon”, broadcast coast to coast across America. While most of the country sat in front of their televisions, Elvis Presley was on stage at the Las Vegas Hilton. That same evening, he quietly donated $5,000 to the telethon’s cause for children with disabilities. His backing singers, The Sweet Inspirations, had just appeared live on the program. During the show, Elvis joked about the telethon and about the other charity, the March of Dimes, and even about the long-awaited tax rebate checks everyone expected that week. ‘I’m still waitin’ on my rebate’. he laughed. ‘Didn’t get mine, had to pay for breakfast’. Yet the millionaire who claimed to get nothing gave instead, turning humor into generosity, and a Las Vegas night into a moment of Easter grace.

The mastering of this LP was entrusted to Planet of Sound Mastering, led by Petrushka, an expert with over 25 years of experience in both live and studio audio. With a background as a musician, producer, and live engineer, her journey began as an intern at Abbey Road Studios in London, where she was mentored during a full-day mastering session. It was there she first heard about the legendary fifteen-year learning curve to mastering, a truth she now acknowledges through decades of hands-on experience.

During a U.S. tour with her former band in the 1990s, she also worked briefly on a project at Sony Studios in New York, adding to her understanding of how emotion, performance, and recording come together in a live context.

"My style of mastering is all about feeling, you should get the sense you were there," says Petrushka. "This is not about polishing everything to perfection, but about preserving what made it human and alive."

Having grown through years of practical refinement - from theory to instinct - her approach reflects a deep sensitivity to how a performance breathes. For this release, every channel was carefully balanced, with special attention given to vocal depth and instrumental clarity.

Available on vinyl in two Collector's Editions: classic black vinyl and transparent violet vinyl. Each version comes with full-color printed inner sleeves, featuring rare photos and liner notes. A beautiful tribute to one of Elvis’s best performances, at least of 1975!

January 24 - Elvis: The King (in) Hollywood

Here is the cover-art for Mariusz Ogieglo's 560-page Polish book 'Elvis Krol (W) Hollywood' which should be available March / April 2026.

Publicity stated: In one of his early interviews Elvis once said: "All my life I wanted to be an actor. And although I never performed even in school plays, deep down I always hoped that one day I would get a chance to appear in a movie".

The legendary King of Rock and Roll got his chance to fulfill that dream in 1956, when he was cast in the western 'Love Me Tender,' alongside such stars of the era as Richard Egan and Debra Paget.

The year 2026 marks the seventieth anniversary of Elvis’ big-screen debut, but also the sixty-fifth anniversary of the release of his most commercially successful film, the comedy 'Blue Hawaii'. It seemed to me a perfect occasion to present to you, the Readers, the result of several years of my work, the book 'Elvis: The King (in) Hollywood'.

On nearly five hundred A5-format pages, it will include not only information about Presley’s first ten films, but also behind-the-scenes anecdotes, memories of actors and actresses who appeared alongside the famous singer, critics’ opinions, and detailed information about the cast and soundtrack albums.

January 22 - Jerome Stump Passed Away

It is with profound sadness that the family of Jerome “Stump” Monroe announces his passing. He passed peacefully at home after a brief illness.

"Stump" was part of the Elvis Presley Show touring from the first 1969 Las Vegas concerts through to the very end in 1977. "Stump" was the drummer for The Sweet Inspirations. His tight, controlled drumming style perfectly complemented their powerful gospel and soul-oriented backing vocals

When regular drummer Ronnie Tutt was ill or absent, 'Stump' stood in as the replacement with the TCB Band three times over those years. 'Stump' Monroe played with Elvis in Philadelphia in 1971, Las Vegas December 1975 and finally in Madison on June 24th 1977.

The Madison concert would be Elvis' third last performance, the soundboard of which has just been discovered and released on the box-set 'The Final Curtain' (Boxcar Enterprises, 2011).

His friend Rick Crofts said it best: "A very plain, modest and simple man. A man with a large sound and a quiet voice". This photograph from 2011
represents exactly who he was.

Jerome wrote a great foreword for the 2024 edition of 'Elvis Day By Day - The Year In Review'. Dear Jerome, Rest In Peace. Sending my condolences to the family and many friends during this time of sadness!

Vintage Rock

Vintage Rock published a single issue special magazine titled 'The Ultimate Guide to SUN Records'.

Description: Over 70 years ago, a visionary producer by the name of Sam Phillips started a record label that would change the world. Sun Records would become the home of many of Rock and Roll's most important players, from Elvis Presley to Jerry Lee Lewis to Carl Perkins, bringing a gritty authenticity to a genre of music that was reverberating through the bedrooms of every teen in America.

In this special tribute to the most iconic record label of all time, we pay tribute to its founder and to its major artists. We remember the women of Sun, as well as its less-celebrated singers, from Billy Lee Riley to Charlie Feathers to Hayden Thompson. We also chat to former Sun promoter Barbara Barnes Sims and, in an interview from the Vintage Rock archives, the late Jimmy Van Eaton. And not only that, we also count down the greatest ever Sun singles. What will be our No.1?

Without Sam Phillips and Sun Records, it's not an exaggeration to say that the history of music would look very different. So join us as we honor America's favorite Rock and Roll label and the icons it helped launch.

Elvis Now Through Labour Day

Publicity stated:
This double album is presented as a 'Best Of' from the 1972 Summer Festival - that ran from August 4 to September 4, 63 shows in total - in Las Vegas. All tracks are taken from the soundboard, with side D devoted to various documents from the period. It is a Limited Edition and is available in two vinyl colors: bla
ck or red colored vinyl.

From August 4 through September 4, 1972, Elvis Presley once again ruled the stage at the Las Vegas Hilton during his legendary Summer Festival engagement — his seventh season at the venue since his triumphant return to live performances in 1969.

By this point, Elvis was no longer simply a star attraction in Las Vegas, he was its undisputed king.

This exclusive 2×LP vinyl set, mastered especially for vinyl playback, presents carefully curated highlights from the Summer Festival 1972 season, newly remastered for superior sound quality. Pressed on audiophile 180 gram vinyl, the release is available in classic black or striking red vinyl.

The performances capture Elvis at a fascinating artistic peak. While timeless classics such as “Suspicious Minds,” and “Hound Dog” remains as career cornerstones, it is the dramatic ballads and contemporary material that define this engagement. Songs like “What Now My Love,” “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’,” and “An American Trilogy” reveal a mature performer exploring deeper emotional territory with confidence and intensity.

In addition to the main concert highlights, this set offers fans a deeper look behind the scenes. Among the treasures is the rehearsal version of “Any Day Now”, recorded during practice sessions at the Las Vegas Hilton, along with rare news reports and interviews with Elvis, capturing the atmosphere surrounding the season.

The cover design is deeply inspired by the original billboards that dominated Las Vegas and outside the Hilton Hotel during August and September 1972. That unmistakable groovy 70’s visual style has been carefully reimagined and carried forward into this deluxe vinyl edition, creating a release that not only sounds authentic, but looks the part as well.

More than just a live recording, this release documents a moment when Elvis Presley was balancing nostalgia with reinvention — redefining his legacy night after night on the Vegas stage.

Side A: August 11, 1972, Dinner Show: Also Sprach Zarathustra - See See Rider - Proud Mary. August 12, 1972, Midnight Show: Never Been To Spain - Until It's Time For You To Go. August 12, 1972, Dinner Show: You've Lost That Loving Feeling.
