Elvis Duet

Sir Cliff Richard will be performing a duet on the song "Blue Suede Shoes" with none other than the late Elvis Presley on his 101st album. The album "Just... Fabulous Rock 'n' Roll" will be released November 2016.

The veteran rocker recorded the album in the Blackbird studio in Nashville, Tennessee, fulfilling his long-held dream of a "duet" with Elvis. The album also includes Sir Cliff's version of songs recorded by his "heroes", including hits by Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Sam Cooke and John Lee Hooker.
Tracks include Roll Over Beethoven, Great Balls Of Fire and Sweet Little Sixteen, as well as a new, original track, It's Better To Dream, and Sir Cliff's debut single Move It, first released in August 1958. He said the album reflected "a happy, creative, and in many ways an innocent time", adding: "Not only do I find it hard to believe that my career has spanned this length of time, but also that I still get the chance to do the thing I love best, and that is to get into a studio."

September 22 - Elvis One

Henrik Knudsen of Elvis Unlimited and the "Graceland" Museum Randers in Denmark has been fined $75 thousand in favour of EPE Inc. The payment will be transferred to the accounts of the estate of ABG / EPE.

The Danish commercial court ruled this week that that the Museum of Jutland has violated the rights of the heirs of Presley, copying the American house in Memphis, which still attracts more than 600 thousand visitors a year.
After the lawsuit was filed, the title was changed from "Graceland Randers". The Museum, owned by Henrik Knudsen, the self-proclaimed "professional Elvis fan", collected about six thousand exhibits. After its opening in 2011, he became one of 50 major attractions of Denmark.

Last year, Knudsen admitted that the lawsuit from Elvis Presley Enterprises took him by surprise. He claims that he voiced the idea of creating a Danish Graceland in 2005 and fans of the king had every opportunity in order to prevent the use of the name of the original estate in the project. "Everything I did, my heart prompted. I'm a die-hard fan of Elvis, and I was doing all of this with no investment," he says.

The publication notes that the court, obliging the owner of the Museum to pay $ 75 thousand, yet acquitted him on a number of counts, including the sale of counterfeit Souvenirs. The Elvis Museum was opened in 2011. All the exhibits from the personal collection of Henrik Knudsen. On the eve of the opening of the Museum he claimed to have had the support from ex-wife Priscilla.

Shot At Graceland

Weinstein Television is developing the first-ever scripted Elvis Presley television biopic to be shot at Graceland, the company announced on Wednesday.

The eight to ten part series will explore every aspect of the King of Rock n’ Roll’s life with access to Elvis’ personal archives including journals, clothing, automobiles and Graceland. The project is based on the 1982 book “Elvis” by author Dave Marsh. Priscilla Presley is attached as an executive producer, and the production is working in full partnership with the Presley Estate. Harvey Weinstein and Jerry Schilling will also exec produce.

“I’m a big fan of Harvey Weinstein’s independent films,” said Priscilla. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with him on this show and tell the story of how Elvis changed the culture of music and initiated a revolution that changed the world.” No network is currently attached to this Elvis project, but it will be soon be discussed.

“We are excited to work with Harvey Weinstein and the team on this special project,” said Jamie Salter, CEO of ABG, “Partnering with producers of this caliber enables us to provide viewers with a new and original experience that is as captivating as the King himself.”
“This project will truly honor everything that made Elvis Presley a central figure of our time. This format enables us to do justice to Elvis’ rich and compelling story, which will be sure to thrill audiences.”

“To this day, Elvis is one of the few that lives up to the word ‘icon’. It’s an incredible opportunity to be the first-ever scripted TV series to shoot at Graceland and have access to Elvis’ personal archives. Elvis redefined an entire generation’s relationship to music and pop culture. This show will be an authentic and riveting look at how that came about from start to finish.” The project will be overseen by Megan Spanjian who heads scripted television for TWC.

About the season (extract from the booklet):

Without any doubt August 1972 is the focus of this year for Elvis, 64 strong shows for this season, Elvis's voice was great - even richer than in his January/February season! Elvis also looked superb - just as good as in the recent June tour with such high quality shows, looking great, in excellent spirits.

After a modest opening night the show will go growing day by day. Seems strange but Elvis keeps his performance to the top for all the season and even this attitude will be growing to the end of the season with shows longer and with a very serious approach to the music, Elvis cared about his songs and each performance was 'fresh' like he was singing' it for the first time, also Elvis being a perfectionist expected a quality performance from everyone during every song!

Maybe the present of 200 English fans from the first September give him an extra incentive to deliver some killer shows, maybe only for a while he could to live his dream to be playing in Europe.

Without doubt a different kind of approach to the music the normally we can’t find in Vegas‘ Elvis’ performance (normally also in his earlier season Elvis begins to be tire of Vegas after the second week of the engagement..) he seems to sing the show his life and you know when he wants he can delivery what nobody other singer or rock band can do. In the same time he sings a different kind of songs.

September 14 - Spliced CD

After their first release “Hollywood” the CMT import-label announced the second CD "Nashville" containing 30 newly created edits of Elvis Presley's songs. The set comes in a “Deluxe Digipack” and is limited to 500 copies.

From the press-release:
Again the STAR team has done all the edits on this album, and they did an even better job , with lots of excellent edits, and surprises. Unlike other “import” labels, they truly were able to produce an album using many incomplete takes, to create beautiful new tracks. Their professional edits will blow you away, and will make you believe these are unreleased takes.

Just listen to the amazing alternate master of “Ain’t That Loving You Baby” re-created from scratch including 17 (!!) splices, this brings you the version used on the 1984 “Reconsider Baby” album, in much better remastered sound.
“Fever” is presented with longer intro and great splices creating a whole new outtake! “Guitar Man” is spliced 5 (!) times and also has a new “What’d I Say” ending. “U.S. Male” has an unusual extra verse included which didn’t make it to the record “You son of a b…”
Another highlight must be “I Gotta Know” with alternate Jordanaires backing. “I Need Your Love Tonight” has an additional guitar solo, and the alternate “I’m Yours” also includes the spoken version.

Elvis fans have been spoiled over the years, and they all know “the end is near” almost every complete take available has been released, so this is as close as you can get for a “new” album!
