May 17 - Broken Vessel

Elvis' stepbrother David Stanley announced that is upcoming book 'Broken Vessel' is set for release on December 15, 2026.

The book description
: 'Broken Vessel,' subtitled 'Finding Faith and Forgiveness in the Shadow of the King'
is David Stanley’s deeply personal narrative and powerful testament to the unwavering love, grace, and redemption of God. This candid memoir chronicles David’s tumultuous journey growing up on tour with his stepbrother Elvis Presley, his divine calling to ministry at the tender age of 12, and his eventual surrender to that ministry in the tumultuous years following Elvis' death.

It meticulously details David’s struggles with debilitating depression and feelings of unworthiness, which led him to abandon his ministerial calling and flee from God, convinced that a soul as damaged as his could not possibly be of use to the divine.

Above all, Broken Vessel is a poignant testament to the eternal love of God for humanity, and how, through the redemptive power of His Son Jesus Christ, we can find forgiveness, healing, and restoration to fulfill His divine purpose in our lives.

Note: David Stanley previously announced the release of a book titled 'Surviving Elvis', but this project has not yet been released.

Review Elvis Day By Day 2025

Brazilian Elvis author Waldenir Cecon was kind enough to review the 2025 edition of 'Elvis Day by Day', here is what he wrote.

For those who have followed the universe of Elvis Presley for many years, I can honestly say that 'Elvis Day By Day 2025 The Year in Review' is one of those books capable of surprising even the most experienced fans. I was truly impressed by the care and depth with which the book documents practically everything that happened in the Elvis world throughout 2025, the year marking the 90th anniversary of the King of Rock and Roll.

Right from the very first pages, it becomes clear that this is far more than just a catalog of releases. The book works as a true journey through Elvis’ legacy in modern times. Across 558 full-color pages, it is packed with information, images, and analyses showing how Elvis’ name remains incredibly alive and relevant today.

One of the things I enjoyed the most was the detailed timeline format. The book follows month by month all Elvis-related releases: new books covering a wide variety of subjects, special CD editions, beautiful multicolored vinyl releases, and of course the 'EPiC' movie releases on DVD and Blu-ray. For collectors, this becomes an almost indispensable reference guide.

Another aspect that really caught my attention was the inclusion of more than 75 reviews, articles, and interviews. These are not superficial texts. Many times, I felt like I was reading a top-level specialized magazine. The authors genuinely analyze the releases, discuss sound quality, content, rarities, and even help fans decide what is truly worth adding to their collections. That makes the reading experience even more engaging, especially for fans who closely follow Elvis releases but cannot always buy everything.

I also greatly appreciated the celebratory atmosphere throughout the book. At many moments, it conveys the feeling that Elvis’ legacy continues to grow even decades after his passing. The foreword written by Roy Turner, Executive Director of the Elvis Presley Birthplace, adds a very emotional touch to the beginning of the book, especially by highlighting the 90th anniversary of Elvis’ birth in Tupelo.

Visually, the book is absolutely stunning. The full-color pages, reproduced covers, promotional photos, and release artwork make the experience incredibly enjoyable. It is the kind of book you pick up just to “take a quick look,” only to find yourself spending hours turning the pages.

After reading 'Elvis Day By Day 2025', I was left with the feeling that it is not simply a release guide, but also an important historical record of how the legacy of Elvis Presley continues to inspire fans, collectors, and researchers all over the world. In my opinion, it is easily one of the most complete and important publications ever created about the contemporary Elvis universe.

What can I say, "thank you, thank you very much" for you kind words. And if you like what Waldenir Cecon wrote, please visit the >>> Poplar Tunes website and web-shop for more information, reviews and previews.

May 09 - King (in) Hollywood 1956-1962

Elvis author Mariusz Ogiegło announced that the publication of his upcoming book 'Elvis: The King (in) Hollywood 1956-1962' has been postponed to September 2026. The 600-page A5-sized book was originally set for release April - May 2026.

Publicity stated:
In one of his early interviews Elvis once said: "All my life I wanted to be an actor. And although I never performed even in school plays, deep down I always hoped that one day I would get a chance to appear in a movie".

The legendary King of Rock and Roll got his chance to fulfill that dream in 1956, when he was cast in the western 'Love Me Tender,' alongside such stars of the era as Richard Egan and Debra Paget.

The year 2026 marks the seventieth anniversary of Elvis’ big-screen debut, but also the sixty-fifth anniversary of the release of his most commercially successful film, the comedy 'Blue Hawaii'. It seemed to me a perfect occasion to present to you, the Readers, the result of several years of my work, the book 'Elvis: The King (in) Hollywood'.

On nearly five hundred A5-format pages, it will include not only information about Presley’s first ten films, but also behind-the-scenes anecdotes, memories of actors and actresses who appeared alongside the famous singer, critics’ opinions, and detailed information about the cast and soundtrack albums.

May 07 - HiFi Rock

The June / July 2026 edition of the Vintage Rock magazine features Elvis on the cover and inside articles going behind the scenes of 'EPiC' and the 70th anniversary of 'Blue Suede Shoes' and the female Rock and Rollers.

Description
: Australian director Baz Luhrmann follows up his 2022 cinema spectacular Elvis with his first turn as a documentary maker for 'EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert'. In this issue, we take an in-depth look at the making of this latest creation, an unmissable film that takes us behind the scenes of Elvis’ U.S. tour Las Vegas tenure, via never-before-seen footage and live recordings – fascinating insight comes from esteemed members of the Elvis Presley Fan Club.

Inside, we also the 70th anniversary of Rock and Roll’s national anthem, 'Blue Suede Shoes', with an examination of how “King Of Rockabilly” Carl Perkins developed his ground-breaking sound from a young teenager through to the records’ eventual release on Sun Records. It’s also 85 years since teen sensation Ritchie Valens was born, so we felt it timely to revisit his incendiary debut LP too, a timeless record that broke down racial barriers and threw open the doors for Chicano Rock and Roll.

When Elvis first arrived, he was followed by plenty of female rock’n’rollers, some of whom were dubbed the “Female Elvis” – in this edition we survey the best of the contenders from Janis Martin and Jean Chapel to Alis Lesley and Sparkle Moore. Add detailed features on Jackie Wilson, doo-wop stars The Clovers and The Dominoes, Joe Clay’s rockin’ perennial Duck Tail, plus Richard Hawley discussing his latest jukebox compilation and more, and you’re in for a treat!
