July 04 - Limited Edition Vinyl

Music on Vinyl announced the re-release of 15 Elvis Presley albums as Limited Editions on colored vinyl. The first batch of three albums will be out August 15, 2025.

Publicity stated
: After being out of print for a good number of years, we at Music On Vinyl are making 15 titles out of our Elvis Presley back catalogue available again between August 2025 and February 2026. They will be released in five batches and each title will see two different editions: one on regular, coloured vinyl and one on mix-coloured, marbled vinyl.

The first batch will arrive at the end of Elvis Week on August 15, 2025 and the last just after International Elvis day on January 9, 2026. The whole series will be housed in deluxe sleeves with a linen look and feel.

The editions on marbled vinyl are strictly limited to
500 numbered copies and will be for sale exclusively in our own webstore. We expect that these will fly off the shelves which is why we wanted to alert you, as the most enthusiastic Elvis fans around, a bit earlier than usual. The other colors are limited to 2,500 copies.

The first batch consists of three compilations: 'A Date With Elvis', collecting early Sun sessions, on silver and black marbled vinyl. 'Elvis At Stax', collecting the best of two sessions in 1973 at the Stax studios on red and white marbled vinyl and 'Elvis Sings', a collection of Elvis’ renditions of famous tracks by artist such as The Beatles and Ray Charles, on gold and red marbled vinyl.

Of course, we have arranged for attractive bundle discounts for the most serious collectors so make sure to head over the webstore to pre-order your copies.

The Small Print: the exclusive marble pressings are limited to 2 copies per customer, and due to rights restrictions, we can only ship these in Europe.

The albums are available for pre-order from the >>> Music on Vinyl webshop. The sets are also available from Amazon, click here for >>> 'A Date With Elvis', of here for >>> 'Elvis At Stax' and here for >>> 'Elvis Sings' (associate links).

Details 'A Date with Elvis': 'A Date With Elvis' was originally released in July 1959, the second year of Elvis’ two-year stint in the army. Worried that being drafted would ruin his career, RCA Victor released three compilation albums featuring shelved recordings from the vaults and recordings previously only available on 7” singles. The goal of these compilations was twofold: keeping Elvis in the public eye awaiting his return to the spotlight and taking advantage of the fast-growing LP market.

This album consists of previously released material from multiple sessions at the famous Sun Studio in Memphis, an August 1956 session at 21th Century Fox’ Stage One, and two from Radio Recorders in Hollywood, Los Angeles, and reached #32 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart.

Details 'Elvis at Stax': In the beginning of 1973 Elvis Presley released the extremely successful live album Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite, after which he spent the first half of that year on tour. The second half of 1973 would have to be spent in the studio recording new material and he decided to find a space closer to home to do so: the legendary Stax, in Memphis. And while typically only Stax artists were making use of the studio, they were happy to accommodate the King.

Over two recordings sessions at Stax in July and December, Elvis ended up recording many hits such as “It’s Midnight” and “Promised Land”, which was originally written by Chuck Berry. This compilation collects the best of these sessions on two LPs, remastered from the original master tapes and includes newly mixed outtakes.
