March 17 - The Sahara Hotel And Casino Close

The Sahara Hotel And Casino, Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra's one-time favourite haunt in Las Vegas, is to close after 59 years. The fabled hang-out of the rich and famous announced that it shut its doors in May. The hotel-casino was flooded with guests in 2007 and 2008 after a takeover by club boss Sam Nazarian put the venue back in the headlines, but the recession wiped out the once star-studded resort's good fortunes and the owner has been forced to shut down.

Elvis Is Back On The Charts

The Legacy Edition of the "Elvis Is Back" album re-entered the Billboard Top 200 Album chart at #199. On The Top Catalogue Albums chart the set is listed at #29.
