May 17 - Horrible Books On The Life And Time Of Elvis

Life And Time Of Elvis

A new biography by author Therlee Gipson is out this month,  entitled, "Life & Time of Elvis: (Tupelo to Memphis)".

What follows is a preview of what the book is about. "The Mississippi Delta is generally considered to be the birthplace of the blues in the United States during Slavery, Blacks began singing blues in the cotton fields. However, Elvis was not born in the Delta, He was born in Tupelo. He got his early influence from Gospel and Rhythm & Blues. You hold in your hands, one of the most important books I have ever compiled on a White person becoming famous from singing African Americans music: Life & Time of Elvis (Tupelo to Memphis). Elvis Aaron Presley was born on January 8, 1935 and died on August 16, 1977. He was one of the most popular American singers of the 20th century. A cultural icon, he is widely known by the single name Elvis. He is often referred to as the "King of Rock and Roll" or simply "the King". Presley's first RCA single, "Heartbreak Hotel", released in January 1956, was a number one hit. He became the leading figure of the newly popular sound of rock and roll with a series of network television appearances and chart-topping records."
