August 8 - the Suit Has Left The Auction

On August 13, the third Graceland Auction will be held during Elvis Week in Memphis. More than 174 items would be presented for sale, making it the largest and most comprehensive auction yet held on the grounds of Graceland.

The item that was getting the most publicity and driving the media postings, Elvis' "Starburst" Jumpsuit, estimated at $100,000-150,000, has been suddenly withdrawn from this week's Graceland Authenticated auction.

Lot #39 was removed from the catalog, it was supposed to be the highlight of the evening. Since late July interesting bidders are able to bid online on the items from the catalog. Already four bids were made on the jumpsuit. The current price achieved was 112,000 dollar. EPE removed Lot # 39 from the online catalogue. No official explanation has so far been published.

New Statues

Two new Elvis Presley statues have been unveiled in Tupelo MS, at the birthplace of Elvis Presley. The first one is entitled "Elvis Becoming" showing an 11-year old Elvis, sitting on a milk crate with a guitar in his lap,  dreaming about the future.
The second statue is named "Elvis The Entertainer". and  stands 7-feet tall and shows Elvis with his arms extended and his head looking skyward. Both statues are created by sculptor Michiel VanderSommen.

Tupelo and Elvis Presley Birthplace wants to attract more tourists and Elvis fans to Tupelo and doing many efforts to achieve that.
