October 17 - Sunset Night In Saginaw

After a longer break the Touchdown import-label announced two new releases; "Sunset In Vegas" and "A Night In Saginaw".

From the press-release:
The first one presents you the midnight show from August 23, 1974 in Las Vegas for the first time in complete form. The show was first released in 1993 as ‘Vegas Birthday Show’, but it was incomplete and missed three songs from the show. The soundquality is very good for an audience recording. The show itself is a good one. Elvis wasn’t very talkative and was focused on singing and entertaining the audience.

Tracks - Sunset In Vegas
See See Rider - I Got A Woman/Amen - Elvis Welcomes The Audience - Love Me - If You Love Me (Let Me Know) - It’s Midnight - Big Boss Man - Fever - Love Me Tender - All Shook Up - The Wonder Of You - I’m Leavin’ - Softly As I Leave You - Hound Dog* - You Gave Me A Mountain - Polk Salad Annie - Band Introductions - If You Talk In Your Sleep - Why Me Lord - Teddy Bear/Don’t Be Cruel* - Happy Birthday - Hawaiian Wedding Song - Let Me Be There - Elvis About His Rings - Can’t Help Falling In Love
* a different source from the same concert had to be used to complete the show.
total runtime: 68.15 min

The second release presents you the show from April 25, 1977 in Saginaw. The concert was released for the first time in 1994. The soundquality is significantly better as Touchdown Productions was able to find a new source. After the very good concert in Ann Arbor the day before, Elvis also offered in Saginaw a very solid show with nice versions of ‘Heartbreak Hotel’, ‘Little Sister’ and a mighty fine version of ‘My Way’.Also included are six former released songs, which got newly remastered.
