Graceland was voted into the top spot by Elvis fans and readers of USA Today’s popular 10Best online travel site. Graceland was among 20 of the nation’s most historic homes nominated by a panel of travel writers and photographers during the annual Readers’ Choice contest, which also recognizes travel destinations, attractions, food and more.
This year marks an impressive seventh USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Award win for Elvis Presley’s legendary home, which was also voted the 2019 “Best Tennessee Attraction and Iconic Landmark,” as well as “Best Tennessee Attraction” and “Best Musical Attraction” in 2018, “Best Historic Southern Attraction” in 2015, and the #1 “Iconic American Attraction” in 2013 by USA Today 10Best readers.
Christmas is an especially magical time at Graceland, as the mansion is decorated for the holidays using Elvis' original Christmas lights and decorations. The extensive Christmas display at the king’s castle includes hundreds of blue lights along the driveway, a life-size Nativity scene, Santa and his sleigh, and much more, all originally displayed at Graceland by Elvis and the Presley family. The interiors of Graceland mansion feature the Presley family’s Christmas décor including Elvis’ traditional red velvet drapes as well as Presley family Christmas artifacts on display around several decorated trees throughout the home.
