November 06 - FTD's Released

The Follow That Dream label released 'The Something For Everybody' album in their 'Sessions Series. This 4-CD 8-inch set also includes the 'Wild In The Country Sessions' and features remixed and remastered unreleased studio out-takes, a 28-page booklet with an insightful essay, record and movie data, memorabilia and rare photos.

'The Something For Everybody' holds all the session takes from Elvis' RCA November 7 / 8, 1960 and March 12 / 13, 1961 sessions. The vast majority of these session have already been released but it will include several "new" false start / outtakes from 'Put the Blame On Me', 'Wild In the Country' and 'I Slipped, I Stumbled, I Fell'.

As there was no official publicity portrait session for the movie, the original six-track EP featured a cover shot from 'Girl Happy'. Around the same time as the 'Easy Come, Easy Go' EP release, 'See The USA The Elvis Way' EP (based on the 'Easy Come, Easy Go' EP art design) was released exclusively in Australia and New Zealand. For this 2-LP limited edition, we have mirrored this rare design that included a publicity portrait from Spinout. Elvis recorded the songs on september 28 and 29, 1966. It includes Bonus Songs 'Come What May' and 'Fools Fall in Love' plus alternate takes and instrumentals.

Together with these two November titles the second print of the 'Elvis - That's The Way It Is - 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition' box set was released.

Faded Love

Sony Legacy released 'Faded Love' (take 3) as a digital single / preview to promote the upcoming 'From Elvis in Nashville' which will be available le in two weeks.

The song was originally a 1950 hit in the US Country charts for Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys. While Elvis' country / overdubbed, simpler Take 1 would be released on the original album, Elvis decided to then add some extra R'n'R in following the takes.

In fact Take 3 would be considered as an "Alternate master" but would never be released in his lifetime.

Remaster engineer Matt Ross-Spang again reveals the rawness of the Nashville sessions and Elvis' sincere performance. This set will be well-worth the wait.

Elvis in Denmark

The book 'Elvis I Denmark' has been released. With Elvis as the focal point, author Bertel Nygaard takes the reader through the Danish history of international popular culture from the 1950s to today.
