March 20 - Rock 'n' Roll Legacy No. 2

The 'Elvis Presley - Rock 'n' Roll No. 2 - Mono II Stereo' album has been released by the French RDM-Edition record label.

Publicity stated: Rediscover Elvis Presley's second album with a new stereo mix! Simply titled, ‘Elvis,’ it is presented here with the addition of eight standalone single sides, as the second in a series of newly created Mono to Stereo mixes of classic Presley albums by Producer Anthony Stuchbury.

The cover art for the U.K. version of the album; ‘Elvis Presley No.2’, which was released via HMV in April 1957, was significantly different to that of its U.S. counterpart. A mustard yellow background was added to a black and white candid shot from September 1956, whilst a similar typeface to the one used on the first album completed the rock ‘n’ roll vibe.

Following the expiration of HMV’s license to release Presley recordings in the U.K. during 1958, this title was deleted and quickly became a much sought after collectible. RCA U.K. would revert to the U.S. cover artwork for their December 1962 re-issue of the album.

However, as the album was affectionately referred to as ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll No.2’ in U.K. fan circles by this point in time, this subtitle was added at the bottom right-hand corner of the sleeve.

This new Mono II Stereo CD edition pays homage to the now legendary British cover and allows you to rediscover 20 songs that have made rock history!
