August 30 - Vinyl Concert Reissues

RCA International (Sony Music) will re-issue "The King", a double CD, on October 13, 2013.

5 New Songs For Elvis Presley In Concert

According to a report on the Web, there will be 5 'new' songs on the October Brazilian Tour of 'Elvis In Concert' including 'Love Me', 'Little Sister', 'Always On My Mind', 'Sweet Caroline', 'Lawdy Miss Clawdy' (from On Tour), and "Mystery Train/Tigerman". However, 'Love Me' was featured on the 2005 European Tour.

According to Jack Soden, South America ranks third in the number of international fans, behind only the United Kingdom and Mexico, "and this allows us to share the life of Elvis and his legacy with them." Bearing this in mind, could the concert tour Mexico be next?

Mood Swings

The third release from Rock Legends import label, "Mood Swings" was released according to a posting on the FECC forum. It features the infamous closing show recorded from the soundboard in Las Vegas, NV on September 2, 1974. The sound quality is a major improvement over the first issue according to the press-release. Elvis Presley' mood swings were legendary during this period of time, and perhaps a bit over the edge on this one. It will never be his best concert but definitely one of his best representation. As a bonus the second CD features the complete August 20, 1973 M.S., a totally different mood and one of the best ever audience recordings released, and superior to many soundboard recordings.

New book about Elvis at Crown Electric

A new book about Elvis's work at Crown Electric is coming our way. This is what author Adrian Keller wrote: "There are some facts that have never been told about Elvis while he was working at Crown Electric in Memphis. I worked in mid 80s for the same man who owned Crown Electric (Mr. Tipler), who shared many of these facts with me. Putting this in writing has been a long-time coming, but it's here. I am sure the fans would love to know these things, since they've never been told before, not to mention the photos which, likewise, have never been released anywhere. There is an abridged version of the upcoming book, already available on Amazon Kindle, titled "Elvis before Elvis", that you may like to read to get an idea of the next book."
