Tom Hanks was a virtual guest on The Graham Norton Show, and admitted that he's not thrilled with the latest hairstyle he's rocking to play Elvis Presley's manager, Colonel Tom Parker, in Baz Luhrmann's upcoming biopic about the King of Rock and Roll.
For the part, the 64-year-old actor currently has a completely bald head with the exception of a few patches of hair on the sides. "Here, let me show you the horrible haircut I have to have in order to portray Colonel Tom Parker. Check out this horrible - can you see that?" Hanks told the host via video from Australia, where the movie is being filmed. "Look at that thing!" Hanks quipped, "I just scared the children. I want to apologize for showing that."

"Evidently, that's my gig now, so I only play real people in show business," the Oscar winner replied. "He was both a genius and a scoundrel," Hanks said of Parker, "He was a very disciplined man, but also a guy who you might want to check your wallet to make sure you still have all those fives and 10s."
To get a better idea of the infamous character, Hanks previously had dinner with Priscilla Presley. Hanks said he was taken aback by her reaction.
"I was expecting to hear stories about the distrust she had for 'Colonel Tom' Parker over these many years, but she said, 'No. He was a wonderful man, and I wish he was alive today. He took really great care of us. He was a scoundrel in his way,"
New Awards
The British Phonographic Industry awarded Elvis Presley with two new awards. A Silver Award for the single 'If I Can Dream' (released November 15, 2004) and a Gold Award for the single 'Blue Christmas' (released November 18, 2004) for selling respectively 200,000 and 400,000 copies since the day of release (streams plus digital downloads plus physical sales).

He had some success in Hollywood and danced in 11 movies, most notably Elvis Presley’s 'Jailhouse Rock'. He remembers Elvis instructing him, “You’d better move it, Rockin’ Roger.” The nickname stuck.
