Colonel Parker Hero or Heel?
Todd Slaughter released his book 'Colonel Parker Hero or Heel? Godverdomme!'
Publicity stated: I say that Elvis should have quit touring at the end of 1973 and taken time off to deal with his heath issues and his demons. If he thought that Colonel was one of his demons then he should have dumped him. Had there been a drastic change in direction at that time, Elvis could have still been alive today.June 24th sees the release of the movie "Elvis" starring Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker. Was Elvis' legendary manager a villain or a victor when it came to looking after the world's greatest super-star.?
The true story is told by fan club president Todd Slaughter who knew Colonel better than anyone else in the U.K., and, for the first time, reveals the conversations and correspondence they shared over two decades.
The deals, difficulties and millions of dollars lost on the spin of a wheel, and his investments in a pirate radio station. The real facts of the relationship between Elvis and his big boss man are so different from what has previously been written by those who never met this dynamic Dutchman. Elvis Movie Cover Album?
Elvis Presley's greatest hits are set to be given the cover treatment in a bid to get a new generation into his music.
Doja Cat is to cover a classic Elvis Presley track for a new album. Yes, you read that right. The 26-year-old rapper is reportedly set to release her version of the iconic song 'Hound Dog' and join a host of other current stars as part of an album celebrating the late King of Rock n Roll's back catalogue to coincide with the upcoming biopic 'Elvis.'
Speaking to us, a source said: "It’s hugely controversial. Elvis fans are diehard and see any tampering as sacrilege, but Warner Bros wanted to bring his music to a new audience. He is one of the most successful musicians of all time, but this album will help introduce his music to a new generation of kids."
Swae Lee is also reportedly set to join the 'Say So' hitmaker on the soundtrack.
The industry insider went on to say that the track will help "bring Elvis' music to the masses again" in a similar vein to the hype around Freddie Mercury biopic 'Bohemian Rhapsody."
