June 02 - Keeping The Show Alive

The SR import record label announced the release of the vinyl / CD set 'Keeping The Show Alive' featuring a "Live Booth" recording of the January 27, 1973 Midnight Show and an "Ambiance Recording" of the previously unreleased show from February 5, 1973.

Publicity stated
: 'Keeping The Show Alive' will focus on Elvis’ January and February 1973 Vegas Season, featuring the January 27, 1973 Midnight Show and the previously unreleased February 5, 1973 Midnight Show performance on the bonus CD.

The January show was previously released on CD but this is the first time on vinyl format with an incredibly superior sound. The vinyl will be accompanied by a CD with an unreleased show from the same season just a week later. All the tracks digitally restored and remastered, making this a must-have release!

The SR label intends to present Elvis at the peak of his possibility. Elvis in the first week of the Vegas January and February season is undoubtedly the best moment of Elvis in 1973, presenting him at the top of his possibilities, delivering two great shows, as suggested in the title 'Keeping The Show Alive'. The performances are outstanding and the shows are surely the best of the season.

Coming from just two weeks from the Aloha special was not the best way to face another Las Vegas season despite this in the first week of the season Elvis sings and is still very active on the stage. He performs all the songs as good as only he can, presenting the best of his repertoire from the previous TV Special. He sung his rockin' single 'Burning Love' at the end of the show, and w had to wait another two years to get another live performance of 'Burning Love'.

We are happy to be able to associate great performance with great audio quality and overall a great bonus CD with this unreleased show placed at the begin of the second week of the season with a minor track listing variation but we think can give well the idea of the first part of the season.

The two shows are great and the Elvis Presley Show is build from a solid collection of quality songs which are well-performed by our man. The range of songs is extensive, we go from the oldies rocking with classics like 'Hound Dog' and 'Blue Suede Shoes' to the powerful popsongs with 'You Don’t Have To Say To Love Me', the sensitive 'Until It’s Time For You To Go', the religious 'How Great Thou Art', the autobiographical 'You Gave Me a Mountain' ending on a high with the rocker 'Burning Love'. The highlight of the show is Elvis new single, the solid rock blues-song 'Steamroller Blues'.

To make this a collectable release, the 600 copies will be released on 5 different colored vinyl 150 Gr. LP variations. All copies come with a glossy sticker, are hand-numbered and individually sealed. All the vinyl will be placed in a 110 Gr. cardboard sleeve with black inner anti-static sleeves.
