April 13 - Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis - A Memoir

The title and release date of Priscilla Presley's follow-up her 'Elvis And Me' memoir were revealed. The new 336-page book, titled 'Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis - A Memoir' will be released as both a paperback and (signed) hardcover edition on September 23, 2025 by Hachette Book Group / Grand Central Publishing. The book will also be available in other languages from different publishers.

Description
: The long-awaited memoir by Priscilla Presley chronicling her difficult, inspiring journey beyond the walls of Graceland and behind the elegant image the world sees.

Priscilla Presley’s divorce from Elvis left his fans incredulous. How could she leave the man every woman wanted? From the outside, life in Elvis’s mansion looked glamorous and enviable, and in many respects, it was. But inside the mansion, her husband was constantly surrounded by a male entourage while at the gates, lines of beautiful women waited hopefully for an audience with the King. From the time she was seventeen years old, that life was all Priscilla had known. During her ten years with Elvis, it became painfully apparent that she had no idea who she was outside Elvis’s world. The only way to find herself was to leave that world and seek a new life of her own, because leaving was the only way to survive, for herself and for her daughter.

'Softly, As I Leave You', is the deeply personal story of what Priscilla lost and what she found when she walked away from the man she loved. Despite the legal separation, their love for one another transformed into a touching and tender dynamic that endured until Elvis’s untimely death four years later. Shattered by Elvis’s passing, she had to reinvent herself a second time as the single mother of a talented, often headstrong daughter who never really recovered from her father’s death. Priscilla’s dedication to motherhood was enriched by the birth of her second child, and she gradually found her footing as a businesswoman, actress, designer, and legislative advocate. She transformed Graceland into an international destination and helped guide the development of Elvis Presley Enterprises. But the unexpected, shattering loss of three immediate family members years later brought Priscilla to her knees. She shares her journey with a quiet dignity that will comfort and reassure anyone who has suffered – and survived – seemingly unbearable loss.

A passionate, compassionate, and inspiring story of finding your place in the world, 'Softly, As I Leave You', is a sweet Southern melody that will take the reader with Priscilla on her long road home.

About the Authors. Priscilla Beaulieu Presley is a businesswoman, author, designer, producer, and actress best known for her roles in the television drama Dallas and the Naked Gun movies. As the cofounder and former chairperson of Elvis Presley Enterprises, she is credited with turning Elvis Presley's mansion, Graceland, into the second most visited historic home in the United States. As a key architect of the Elvis Presley legacy, she has curated and produced albums, books, films, and concerts honoring the late music legend. She lives in Los Angeles near her son and grandchildren, where she continues her lifelong commitment to animal advocacy.

Mary Jane Ross is an award-winning college professor and writer, honored with the NAACP Image Award for Best Biography or Autobiography, with Ray Charles Robinson. Her collaborations span subjects as diverse as Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Piper Laurie, Mafia hitman Roy DeMeo, and Congressmember Nancy Mace. Softly, As I Leave You, with Priscilla Presley, marks her ninth memoir. Her body of work also includes poetry and an online grammar textbook for second-language students. She lives in her native Southern California.

April 12 - Record Store Day

April 12th is Record Store Day 2025 and three LP's were officially released today. From the French V.P.I. record label: the triple LP-set '1960: Everybody's Got The Fever ...' on cloud colored vinyl and the single LP 'Elvis Sings Sid Tepper & Roy C. Bennett - Just For Old Time Sake' on two-colored red and blue colored vinyl. These sets are limited to 1,500 copies and will also be released on CD as vinyl replica's.

Omnivore Recordings announced the Record Store Day release 'Viva Doc Pomus: Songs For Elvis (The Demos)' on a double LP on opaque orange colored vinyl. This LP does not contain performances by Elvis Presley.

The official release-date for these albums is April 12, 2025, Record Store Day 2025.

Publicity for 'Viva Doc Pomus
: Songs For Elvis (The Demos)' stated: 'A Teenager In Love',  'Save The Last Dance For Me', 'This Magic Moment', 'Can’t Get Used To Losing You'. There’s not much in early rock history that can equal those songs. Doc Pomus wrote hit after hit with an array of songwriting partners with Mort Shuman chief among them. Together they created a template for the sound of the late 1950s and early ’60s. Writing timeless classics covered by artists around the globe, one artist was King, Elvis Presley.

Pomus / Shuman were the names on the sheet music for many a remarkable Elvis recording. 'Viva Las Vegas', '(Marie’s The Name) His Latest Flame', 'She’s Not You', all classics. So, where do all those songs start? The demos.

Painstakingly transferred, restored and mastered from the original acetates with full approval and cooperation of the Pomus estate, 'Viva Doc Pomus: Songs For Elvis (The Demos)' explores the recordings submitted to Presley for his consideration to record. Some (the afore mentioned hits and more) were recorded and released by Elvis, while others fell by the wayside for reasons lost to time, or recorded by other artists, and we’re left to imagine what might have been had The King recorded and released them.

Available on a double opaque orange-colored LP for Record Sore Day, the origins of Rock and Roll are in full force on 'Viva Doc Pomus: Songs For Elvis (The Demos)'. Hear what Elvis heard for yourself and wonder what could have been! Viva Doc Pomus indeed!

April 08 - The Pope Is Coming To San Bernardino

The Infinity import record label announced the release of two new double CD sets: 'The Pope is Coming' and 'Burning In San Bernardino', both with live performances from 1972.

Publicity stated
Coming soon is the first 2-CD set is called "The Pope Is Coming," featuring the brand-new and previously unreleased evening show Elvis performed in Chicago on June 17, 1972.

For years, fans only had access to the afternoon show, which is one of Elvis's finest performances during this tour, but the evening show was only known through a couple of minutes of 8mm fan footage. We were able to obtain this decent-sounding unreleased Elvis show, including part of the opening acts!

The Sweet Inspirations set the mood by performing Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine" and their song "Sweet Inspiration" before the crowd goes wild, and the taper of this show exclaims, "The Pope Is Coming!" as the 2001 theme thunders through the Chicago Stadium.

This digipack is filled with unreleased pictures from this show, and covering two discs, we present these two performances together for the first time, with the afternoon show newly remastered! Listen for great versions of "Release Me," "Reconsider Baby," "Something," "My Babe," "Little Sister / Get Back" (the second time Elvis used the original 1960s intro!), "I'll Remember You," "Hound Dog," among many other highlights!

The second 2-CD set features two of Elvis's finest shows from November 1972 at the Swing Auditorium. This was Elvis preparing for his worldwide satellite show with the shows a couple days later in Hawaii to serve as Elvis's debut to the world! However, due to various reasons this was moved to January of 1973.

We were able to obtain a different and complete source of the performance on November 13th, a show where Elvis was absolutely on fire, singing great versions of "Burning Love," "Mystery Train / Tiger Man," "What Now My Love," among others, and this source came in great quality!

We've also decided to include the November 12th show, which also comes in good quality and makes its debut on silver disc here. The last two songs of that show and a small part of the opening number were missing from the source tape, as the taper started late and still ran out near the end! So, we’ve decided to add the two missing songs from the show in Oakland, only a day before. This show also features great versions of "One Night," "You Gave Me A Mountain," and "Fever."

The digipack features some brand new photos that will excite any Elvis fan and we hope you enjoy these releases!

April 05 - King of the Whole Wide World

Released by a nameless import record label is the LP 'King of the Whole Wide World'. This is a limited run of 200 copies on black vinyl and it should be the first album release in a new 'Alternate Compilation Series'. Apparently these LPs are not factory pressed, but produced as a lathe cut vinyl LP.

Lathe-cut records are a type of vinyl record that is created by manually cutting grooves into a blank vinyl disc using a lathe.

A blank vinyl disc is placed on the turntable of the cutting lathe.

A cutting stylus, usually made of sapphire or diamond, is used to engrave the grooves directly into the blank disc. This is done in real-time as the audio plays. Each record is unique.

Priscilla Vs. Kruse - 1: 0

Last Thursday the L.A. County judge sided with the Priscilla Presley and ruled that California was the best venue to hear the lawsuit, which claims her ex-associates had conned her out of over US$1million.

The complaint, filed last July, accused Florida-based memorabilia auctioneer Brigitte Kruse as well as Kevin Fialko, Vahe Sislyan and Lynn Walker Wright of crookedly convincing her to give them power over her and then abusing that control in efforts to steal her money. The case will now proceed with its next hearing in a few weeks.

After previously rejecting the defendants’ claims that California had no jurisdiction over them, Judge Mark H. Epstein said he considered the latest legal push “yet another in what seems to be a never-ending series of motions … to move this case out of California and into Florida.” He rebuffed the argument that Florida was the best venue in terms of preserving private and public resources. He also brushed off the claim that Presley signed contracts that agreed to litigate disputes in Florida.
This is not really a contract-based case at its heart; it is a fraud case.”

In prior declarations to the court, the defendants claimed Priscilla willingly entered into agreements with them to lease a property in Florida and fork over the controlling interest in her publicity rights.

In her 45-page elder abuse complaint filed last July, Priscilla claimed Kruse “quickly immersed herself” in her life after meeting her in 2021, “often sending her multiple text messages a day, and telling her how much she loved her and admired her.” Priscilla’s lawsuit called Kruse a “con-artist and pathological liar” who misappropriated more than US$1 million from Presley and “fraudulently induced” her into signing contracts that gave Kruse and Fialko between 51 percent and 80 percent control over closely held companies owning and exploiting her name, image and likeness.

Priscilla said the defendants placed a “stranglehold” on her finances and withheld not only the US$500,000 she made from Sofia Coppola’s film adaptation of her biography Elvis and Me, but also the US$349,900 she received in connection with her “Cilla” cosmetics deal".

In her dueling breach of contract lawsuit, Kruse alleges that Presley illegally walked out on their various business agreements when her financial circumstances changed in the wake of her daughter Lisa Marie’s death. As Rolling Stone previously reported, Presley challenged a 2016 amendment to her daughter’s Promenade Trust that removed her as a co-trustee but then quickly reached a generous settlement with granddaughter Riley Keough that granted her a US$1 million lump-sum payment, US$100,000 annual salary, and burial rights at Graceland.

A spokesperson for Kruse noted, "It saddens all of us who dropped our lives to provide aid to a woman who needed help and she is now attempting to use her celebrity status to ruin the lives of kind, hardworking people. Thank you to all of our supporters who have stood by us during this difficult time. We will continue to focus on our business and look forward to our day in court."

April 03 - Black Mamba on Display

Elvis Presley’s 1975 Ferrari Dino 308GT4 Coupe made its way from Graceland in Memphis to Charlotte Motor Speedway, for the April 3 to 5 2025. The sleek, black-on-black, Italian-made masterpiece nicknamed "Black Mamba" will be on display all weekend, giving fans an up-close look at one of the king’s prized rides.

In the entertainment world, there is no bigger name than Elvis Presley,” said Greg Walter, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. “To be able to showcase a piece of his personal car collection at AutoFair is to relive an iconic era of music history and pay tribute to his legendary life and career. We can’t wait to welcome fans to reconnect with Elvis through this rare piece of history.
Unlike most of his personal collection – which Presley bought new – he made an exception for this Ferrari, which he purchased for US$21,000 in October 1976, simply because he loved the way it handled on the road.

The story of Presley’s Ferrari Dino is almost as iconic as the singer himself. After being named an honorary captain of the Memphis Police Department in 1976, he equipped the Ferrari with dashboard police lights. Staying true to his larger-than-life persona, instead of pulling people over to issue tickets, he was known to tell them to slow down and leave them with an autograph as opposed to a fine.

"We are excited to be working with the team at Charlotte Motor Speedway to bring Elvis back to AutoFair,” said Angie Marchese, Vice President of Graceland Archives and Exhibits. “Elvis was such a car guy and being able to showcase one of his cars at this prestigious track is always special. Elvis’ 1975 Ferrari has traveled the world, and we are thrilled to be able to bring it to North Carolina to share with car enthusiasts.”

Officials from Elvis Presley’s Graceland will also be on site at Charlotte Motor Speedway throughout the AutoFair weekend to share history of the King, the car and other special artifacts from the legendary crooner’s career. AutoFair guests will also have the opportunity to learn about exclusive tour opportunities at Graceland.
