October 11 - New Elvis Vinyl

The Paradise Road Record label announced the release of the LPs ‘Elvis – 68/69 Sessions’ features remastered alternate recordings from the phenomenal 1968 Elvis Presley television special, ‘Elvis’, the 1969 American Sound Studio Sessions and more on clear vinyl. Both albums are due October 20, 2021.

The label also released ‘February 1970 - On Stage - The Alternate Recordings’ containing remastered alternate soundboard and audience recordings from February 1970 on red colored vinyl.

October 05 - FTD Warehouse Fire And Hot New Releases

Updated: Sad news for #Elvis fans, there was a fire at the Follow that Dream warehouse in Denmark. This was the second fire in a short time.

Roger Semon and Ernst Jorgensen stated that the company Impulse, which supplies all dealers in Europe, suffered a factory fire a few weeks ago that destroyed a large part of the warehouse and almost the entire FTD catalog. A minor disaster where the back catalog could no longer be delivered. 

More information on the impact when available.

The message from FTD:

"It is with regret that due to another major fire at Impulse, we we be unable to distribute or supply any back catalogue items for the foreseeable future. It will be sometime before an in-depth assessment can be made regarding saleable product. We will obviously update as and when possible.

On a positive note, we are able to proceed with our planned November release. Please submit orders for these three titles by November 1 if not sooner. When ordering, please take into account your company need for potential half year to full year sales. Don’t rely on quick replenishment from Impulse.

October 04 - The Airplanes and the King

Carlos Varrenti's book 'Los Aviones y El Rey', will be re-published December 2021 by The Elvis Files Team as 'The Airplanes and the King'. 

This new and upgraded edition comes in English and contains around 200 extra pages with a lot of unreleased material from Elvis Files' vaults. The prologue was written by Elvis expert and author Carlos R. Ares.

Original description: As an Aeronautical Engineer, and a big fan of Elvis Presley, I always wanted to write a book about the Airplanes and the King. Since my very first visit in Graceland, back in 2001, I've been extremely intrigued by Elvis' history with his own airplanes, and his link to aeronautics in general. 

His impressive airplanes, exhibited at Graceland as testimonies his greatness, made me realize that there was a story to be told here. And boy, what a great story it was!

This is how for several years, every little detail, every short paragraph in a book, every short video, every photograph, every little note or information related to Elvis and his airplanes, was always marked and added to my personal archive. After a few years I had enough material to write the story behind The king and his planes, combining my two passions. 

This book is written for fans of Elvis and people interested in planes and aironatics in general. Fans who want to know more about Elvis' bond with his airplanes, or in-depth details behind the hidden and enigmatic aeronautical facets of Elvis Presley.

Sony released the third official preview for the upcoming 'Elvis Back  In Nashville' 4-CD set, takes 1 and 2 of 'Amazing Grace'. Engineer Matt Ross Spang brings out the delightful ambience of Elvis and the band as they capture the pure soul of this classic gospel song.

Betty Amos Died

Musician, singer and writer Betty Amos died. She was 87. 

Amos appeared with Elvis in the Louisiana Hayride and even borrowed her guitar to him so he could perform at the City Auditorium, Clarksdale, Mississippi. The picture, dated March 10, 1955,  shows Elvis playing Betty Amos' guitar
