May 04 - New Import Vinyl and CD

The STAR / CMT import-combination released a new ‘Spliced Takes’ CD entitled ‘Spinout on the Speedway’ focussing on the movies ‘Spinout’ and ‘Speedway’. This releases comes housed in a card sleeve.

From the press release
This time the producers decided to combine two movies for one release, since the original movie soundtracks were so short in running time. Not only are most tracks "spliced" but a lot are also extended with different parts so most tracks sound very different.

If you own the previous releases like "Kissin Cousins, Viva Las Vegas and Fun in Acapulco" you will know what to expect. As Always you will get a lot of value in this release since almost all sounds very different then usual without using fake remixes or over-dubbs. So sit back and relax, and leave the driving to Elvis!

Tracks: Stop, Look and Listen (Spliced Take 2, 3, 3, 6) - Adam And Evil (Alternate Master) - All That I Am (Spliced Take 1, 2, 4) - Never Say Yes (Spliced Take 2, 2, 2, 1) - Am I Ready? (Spliced Take 2, 1) - Beach Shack (Spliced Take 1, 3) - Spinout (Spliced Take 3, 2, 2, 2, 3) - Smorgasbord (Spliced Take 5, 3, 3, 6, 5, 4, 5) - I'll Be Back (Spliced Take 1, 1, 1) - Speedway (Alternate Master) - There Ain't Nothing Like A Song (Alternate Master) - Your Time Hasn't Come Yet Baby (Spliced Take 1, 6) - Five Sleepy Heads (Alternate Master) - Who Are You? (Alternate Master) - He's Your Uncle Not Your Dad (Re-Edited Master) - Let Yourself Go (Reversed Master) - Suppose (Take 1)

Houston, I’m Back Again

The VV -import-label announced the release of the “Special Deluxe Combo” double LP / CD set ‘Houston, I’m Back Again’ with May 2020 as the release date.

From the press release
As a follow up to last year’s ‘See You Soon Huntsville’ the VV label will release the June 4th and June 5th 1975 Houston shows on colored vinyl, housed in various packages.

It is our goal to present Elvis at the top of his capabilities, and without a doubt this set presents Elvis at his best. After losing some weight our man is ready to start his second 1975 tour. Thanks to the fact that RCA decided to release a live album we have some incredible soundboard recordings of this tour. Unfortunately most incomplete. But at the same time, this has given us the possibility to release - with just a some light editing and remastering - a single vinyl record for each of the Houston concerts.

At the same time we are glad to include as bonus CD containing an unreleased “ambiance” recording of the complete concert of the second day in Houston. The sound is decent, if you want to live the atmosphere of an Elvis concert in 2020 this is the right tape. We can guarantee that Elvis was greeted with incredible enthusiasm.

Elvis Presley looked great in his impressive new jumpsuits and he delivers great shows with a great version of the up-tempo rockers ‘Burning Love’ and his last single ’T.R.O.U.B.L.E.’ The enthusiasm is so great that the screaming of the audience is louder than the music on certain parts of the concert. Elvis even does ‘Trying to Get to You’ as a request, a rarity for the tour. The sound is good for an ambient recording, a dynamic tape with a great definition of the background music and for sure you can live the atmosphere of an Elvis concert in the seventies. We hope you can enjoy the final result.
