Elvis Presley's Memphis school friend Ed Leek, 75, died after fighting cancer for two years. He was a friend of Elvis Presley and owned the original 1953 acetate "My Happiness" containing the first recording Elvis Presley ever made.

June 5 - Ed Leek, Like Any Other
The 50th. anniversary re-issue of the book "Elvis: Like Any Other Solider" by Jerry Osborne and Barbara Hahn was announced. The book - originally published in 1988 - will be released August 2010.
It is a completely revised edition with 1500 photo's on 400 pages in black and white and another 104 pages in color. Every Elvis photo or reference to him in the original Fort Hood book was included. So is a recently discovered Elvis military yearbook for 1959, "Spearhead 3d Armored Division".
