Lisa Marie Presley turned 53 today, congratulations! Lisa Marie was born February 1st 1968, nine months to the day after Elvis and Priscilla's wedding in Las Vegas on May 1, 1967.
Recently Graceland archivist Angie Marchese revealed a “secret drawer” located in the corridor next to the kitchen on the way to the Jungle Room. Inside you can see Lisa Marie’s graffiti which reads, “Lisa’s home Graceland” with a smiley face.
Oh Happy Day
The Paradise Road Record import-label released the CD ‘Oh Happy Day’ featuring the August 14, 1970 Midnight Show. It comes with a booklet with information, photos from this great show and background information about these recordings.
A very remarkable show. Elvis was in a really goofy mood and introduced himself as Johnny Cash. He seemed to be really enjoying this show, despite the cameras and the house lights being up so MGM could film him. He changed the words to the several songs and really had fun messing them up. Elvis sings great songs like 'Oh, Happy Day', 'Bridge Over Troubled Water', 'Folsom Prison Blues' and 'I Walk The Line'.
This show was first released on 'The Man In White - Volume 3' released in 2003. Now - 18 year later - all performances have been newly remastered and speed corrected where necessary. And for the first time on CD, you get the camera sound recordings of this show.
