Elvis Presley can usually be located somewhere on the Billboard charts. The rocker remains popular enough in his home country for one of his compilations to find space on at least one list, but sometimes his showing is more impressive, and he fills out positions on a handful of tallies. Around the holidays, Presley’s music surges in consumption, and he’s not the only legacy act to experience such a boon. This week may be his biggest of the year, as several of his albums and a number of individual tunes are all performing well enough to land on the Billboard charts, and one is even a top 10 smash all over again.
U.S. Billboard charts:
Hugh McIntyre noted for Forbes that 'The Classic Christmas Album' is not new to the Top 10 on the Top Country Albums ranking, though the fact that a compilation filled with tunes recorded decades ago is so popular today is impressive. The album was released in 2012, but, of course, the songs are much, much older than that. In the past, the title has peaked at No. 5, and it’s now racked up 68 stays somewhere on the roster.
Consumption of 'The Classic Christmas Album' grew by just under 19% from one period to the next, according to Luminate. The project moved a little more than 25,300 equivalent units in the U.S., with more than 2,500 of those being actual purchases.
All those sales and streams help 'The Classic Christmas Album' rise on two other charts in the U.S. As it breaks into the Top 10 on the Top Country Albums list, it reappears inside the Top 40 on the Top Streaming Albums ranking, which is not specific to one genre. On that tally, it pushes forward from No. 42 to No. 38. It’s not far behind on the Billboard 200, where it leaps from No. 54 to No. 46.
The classic 'Blue Christmas' climbed from, No. 42 to No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week. On the Global Top 200 chart the single climbed from No. 63 to No. 51. On the Global Top 200 chart excl. U.S. the single made a re-entry at No. 173. On the Streaming Songs chart the song rose from No. 32 to No. 27. On the on the Holiday Streaming Songs chart, the song remained steady at No. 21. On the Rock Digital Songs chart the song made a re-entry at No. 15.
The legend’s 'The Classic Christmas Album' is back inside the highest tier on one ranking in the U.S., as the masses keep buying and streaming everything connected to the big day as it reaches its popularity zenith for another year. Presley’s set lifts from No. 12 to No. 9 on the Top Country Albums list, which tracks the most-consumed full-lengths and EPs in that genre, with both streams and sales contributing to a title’s placement.
It climbed 2 spots to No. 17 on the Catalog Album chart.
- 'Blue Christmas' jumped from No. 5 to No. 4 on the Top Country Streaming Songs chart.
- 'Oh Little Town of Bethlehem' rose 5 spots to No. 10 on the Christian Streaming Songs chart.
- On the Holiday 100 chart, 'Blue Christmas' remained steady at No. 21. while 'Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane)' dropped 1 spot to No. 85.
On the Top Rock and Alternatives Album chart 'The Classis Christmas Album' climbed from No. 11 to No. 5 while it gained 6 places on the Top Rock Album chart, climbing to No. 3 and dropped to No. 9. On the Top Holiday chart the album remained steady at No. 17.
On the Classical Album chart the 'Christmas with Elvis and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra' gained 3 places and climbed to No. 21.
On the Artist Top 100 chart 'Elvis' climbed from No 49 to No. 44.
Not updated were: Elvis is also featured on the Rock Song charts, with 'Blue Christmas' remaining steady at No. 2 on Billboard's Rock Streaming songs chart and 'Here Comes Santa Clause' re-entering that chart at No. 25.
US Book Charts:
Extra charts from the U.S. this week, for the Lisa Marie Presley biography. On the New York Times 'Combined Print and E-Book Nonfiction' bestsellers lists, 'From Here To The Great Unknown' remained dropped 1 spot to No. 13. On the nonfiction hardcover bestsellers list the memoir also dropped 1 spot, landing at No. 11. On the Audiobook bestsellers list for December, the book is still listed at No. 9 (monthly list).

Official Album chart: 'ELV1S 30 #1 Hits' jumped 20 places up the chart, from No 62 to No. 42 while 'Elvis' Christmas Album' returned to the charts at No. 85.
