May 09 - King (in) Hollywood 1956-1962

Elvis author Mariusz Ogiegło announced that the publication of his upcoming book 'Elvis: The King (in) Hollywood 1956-1962' has been postponed to September 2026. The 600-page A5-sized book was originally set for release April - May 2026.

Publicity stated:
In one of his early interviews Elvis once said: "All my life I wanted to be an actor. And although I never performed even in school plays, deep down I always hoped that one day I would get a chance to appear in a movie".

The legendary King of Rock and Roll got his chance to fulfill that dream in 1956, when he was cast in the western 'Love Me Tender,' alongside such stars of the era as Richard Egan and Debra Paget.

The year 2026 marks the seventieth anniversary of Elvis’ big-screen debut, but also the sixty-fifth anniversary of the release of his most commercially successful film, the comedy 'Blue Hawaii'. It seemed to me a perfect occasion to present to you, the Readers, the result of several years of my work, the book 'Elvis: The King (in) Hollywood'.

On nearly five hundred A5-format pages, it will include not only information about Presley’s first ten films, but also behind-the-scenes anecdotes, memories of actors and actresses who appeared alongside the famous singer, critics’ opinions, and detailed information about the cast and soundtrack albums.
