According to an update from the London Elvis Shop the upcoming 'Summer Nights’ release from the Follow That Dream collectors label has two faulty discs. This was later confirmed in an update from FTD's Roger Semon in an update to dealers.
The shop posted: "Please be advised that due to mastering error(s), CD 2 contains two additional opening tracks that were supposed to be deleted due to poor quality. CD 3 has the two opening tracks transposed in error.
As the release is already picked, packed and ready to ship with the new orders, the artwork will not reflect these anomalies."
Note: It is strange that the FTD label does not chose to correct this. Most fans will have enough 1974 live shows to get them through the next few weeks whilst the errors are being corrected.
The reason for the decision by the collectors label to sent out these faulty discs could be that a further delay holds up the shipping of 'Soldier Boy' and 'Promised Land' vinyl even longer. This way everything can be shipped together.
Some fans are perhaps you're better off waiting for the second pressing. For others, a mis-pressing becomes a collectable.
