November 15 - Elvis 85

Sony Music Germany announced the 3 CD set “Elvis 85” with December 13 as the release-date. The set comes   housed in a digi-pack with a 24-page booklet. The first edition is a limited Bravo Edition. 

Description:
It is autumn 1956 and Bravo magazine is barely two months old. Reporter Beyl meets with this young and upcoming shooting star, completely unknown in his country, that caused a sensation in the US with hits like “Hound Dog”, “Heartbreak Hotel” and “Love Me Tender”, to do an interview. The name of that singer, Elvis Presley. At the time, Bravo was still a film-riddled magazine, the Rock ’N’ Roll phenomenon hadn’t really reached Europe yet. But that should change immediately. February 1957 Elvis Presley graced the magazine cover for the first time.  

From that day on nothing remained the same. RCA released Elvis’ records and the reception was amazing. Elvis takes the hearts of his new fans by storm and his hits enter the charts in in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Almost overnight, the handsome rebel with the styled pompadour hairstyle becomes the idol of a new generation: with an electrifying sound, an incomparable voice and an emphatically provocative hip swing. The world has never seen one like that or heard anyone like that. 

Pretty soon he became the greatest entertainer of all time. Although he did not invent Rock ’N’ roll, he makes it as popular as no-one in the fifties and opened the door for countless musicians, both black and white, who follow him. He became the King of Rock n Roll, scored over 30 #1 hits and sold over a billion records.

Music on Vinyl released a 45th Anniversary Edition of Elvis Presley's 20th studio album "Good Times". This edition, limited to 2500 copies worldwide, comes on blue vinyl.
