October 28 - 8mm Elvis - The Home Cinema Years

8mm Elvis fan Vince Wright is working on the first book titled '8mm Elvis - The Home Cinema Years' documenting Elvis' 8mm catalog. The release-date hasn't been set yet.

From his website: As an Elvis fan and an 8mm fan I was always disappointed about the lack of info that was out there in the Elvis 8mm world. All that we had was a list here and there and the same old pics. We need it all in one place .

As an Elvis fan working at Derann Film Services a million years ago I became obsessed with Elvis on 8mm and bought whatever my wage would allow. Later in life I put an advert in the Records Collector and the rarities rolled in. My dream was to own a book just about 8mm Elvis, and that dream is nearly here!

The upcoming book should cover all the artwork, catalogues, flyers, adverts, 8mm memories and footage from fans and dealers and more.

The author is still looking for additional content, so if you think you can help him please visit his >>> 8mm Elvis website.

Little People, Big Dreams

Frances Lincoln Children's Books announced the May 17, 2022 release of the hardcover children's book 'Elvis' in their 'Little People, BIG DREAMS' series. The book, written for children between 4 and 7 years old, was written by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara and illustrated by Ana Albero.

He had just finished high school when he plucked up the courage and walked through the doors of Sun Studios, ready to record his first song. After this came hit after hit, and he popularized a new genre of music that mixed all kinds of different styles. That genre was Rock 'n' Roll, and it would take the world by storm!

All the great artists that came after him still look up to little Elvis, the King of Rock 'n' Roll, the unique and irreplaceable artist who changed the course of music history. This inspiring book features stylish and quirky illustrations and extra facts at the back, including a biographical timeline with historical photos and a detailed profile of the music legend’s life.

October 25 - Vinyl Sold Out Down Under (Updated)

The Pyramid import label shared the cover-art for volume 10 in their 'Sold Out' 8mm fan-shot footage from the seventies DVD series.

The double DVD set has late November 2021 as the release-date. No additional information available yet.

Publicity stated: 'Sold Out volume 10' is something special. Ever since the inception of Pyramid, we’ve been inundated with requests to release a volume focusing on the final year. We all know that the last year was difficult for Elvis. And for those of us who love the man and his music, it’s still hard to see footage from some of those shows. But there were also those nights where he could pull it together and blow everybody away with the power and might of his voice: performances like 'How Great Thou Art', 'Fairytale' and 'Hurt' are a testament to that fact.

'Sold Out volume 10' has plenty of those moments. And some truly great close-ups of the man giving his all on stage. One of the advantages of footage from the final year is that it’s often more complete, and indeed one of the shows on this release even clocks in at over 54 minutes. And there are various cool concert rarities including 'Funny How Time Slips Away' as the third song in the show, a solid 'Until It’s Time For You To Go', a neat 'Steamroller Blues', a back-to-the-basics 'That’s All Right Mama', and more.

There’s also plenty of light moments where he is in a playful mood, teasing Charlie and J.D., hiding behind Jerry, etc. And after years of hearing him make the ‘creeping crud’ joke, you can now finally seeS it. We’ve once again included several fascinating behind-the-scenes films, of Elvis in his penguin outfit, the band and singers arriving at a venue, fans waiting in line, shots of the Lisa Marie at night, etc.

This is a release you can’t afford to miss. The liner notes were written by original backing vocalist Carol (Sonja) Montgomery, who provides a fresh perspective on the 'Nashville ’71' session where Elvis walked out.

Packaged in a gorgeous digipack with various pix of The King in his Sundial suit, this gem of a release hits all the right spots! Order it today!

From Graceland to Australia

The Victorian government announced a major new biographical exhibition exploring the life and times of Elvis Presley, scheduled to open at Bendigo Art Gallery on March 19, 2022.

Curated in collaboration with the Graceland trustees, including Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley, the blockbuster exhibition will display more than 300 pieces of memorabilia, including Presley’s 1960 red MG sports car, his 1976 custom Harley Davidson, and two costumes he wore in the ‘68 Comeback Special.

The director of Bendigo Art Gallery, Jessica Bridgfoot, said the gallery had been granted unprecedented access to the Graceland archives to present a comprehensive exhibition of the defining musical artists of the 20th century.

In addition to exploring the high profile and enduring legacy of his celebrity, the exhibition will delve into the lesser-known aspects of Presley’s early years, interests and personal life, as well as his radical sense of style.

Curator Lauren Ellis has spent the better part of two years immersing herself in the life of of one of the most influential public figures of popular culture, examining not just the impact of his music and films, but also his contribution to art and design.

“I began to realise how heavily appropriated and remixed Elvis is in fashion and style, and the heavy emotional fan base he still has. His story sort of has this Shakespearean quality to it.”

Presley also signifies major generational changes of the 20th century, from the emergence of post-war baby boomers (he became one of the first figures to attract global celebrity in a mass media market), to his time in Hollywood, to the excesses of 1970s Las Vegas.

“He achieved it all through his own invention, and really without a roadmap,” Ellis says. “He did really break this completely bizarre new ground.”

Alongside the signature Presley costumes, the exhibition will include many personal family items from his early years living in the “shotgun shack” in Tupelo, Mississippi, as well as documentation of his breakout at Sun Studios, his US Army service, his time in Hollywood, and his Las Vegas years.

Items in the exhibition are as varied as a crayon box the young Elvis took to school, the hymnal book he took to church with his family, his first job application, the tuxedo he wore at his marriage to Priscilla, and the tiara she wore as his young bride.

A $500,000 grant from the Victorian government has secured the exhibition, which Bridgfoot assures is not just for die-hard Elvis fans, but for anyone who is fascinated by the nature of American popular culture and the myths surrounding celebrity.

Finally On Vinyl

The vinyl edition of the Memphis Recording Service releases 'Las Vegas International presents: Elvis in Person - September 1970' and 'Las Vegas International presents: Elvis The Final Rehearsals 1970' have been released on black and on clear vinyl.

Elvis' Las Vegas Record Set To Be Broken

Barry Manilow, now aged 78, is set to break a long running Las Vegas record set by Elvis Presley.

Manilow is returning to Vegas October 14th with a bunch of shows, then more in 2022 and 2023. All the shows are at the legendary Westgate Las Vegas Resort, formerly known as the International / Vegas Hilton Hotel.

Elvis performed 837 consecutive shows at the International Theater over seven years, his last show was in December of 1976. No performer since then has played more shows. Barry should hit that mark in 2023.

Note: Barry Manilow first played Las Vegas in January 1988, so that's 35 years to achieve what Elvis did in just seven years!

October 22 - I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen

Sony Legacy released a third digital single of 'I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen' through various streaming services and uploaded an official lyric video to various platforms. The single is a preview for the upcoming 'Elvis Back In Nashville' set which is due November 12, 2021.

On May 20, 1971 in the early hours of the morning, having laid down a few tracks for his up-coming Gospel album, Elvis sat down at the piano on his own and trying to relive the emotion of singing alone in Graceland, Elvis sang three old favourites for his studio friends.

These were two by Ivory Joe Hunter 'It's Still Here' and 'I Will Be True' plus an old classic 'I’ll Take You Home Again Kathleen'. Elvis singing alone playing piano in Studio B was a totally unique situation and was luckily recorded by RCA. Elvis only sang the one take.

Description of the complete CD set: What turned out to be Elvis Presley's final Nashville session brought music that was originally overlooked. The original recordings found their way onto the holiday-themed 'Elvis Sings the Wonderful World of Christmas' (1971), the gospel 'He Touched Me' (1972), 'Elvis Now' (1972) and 'Elvis' (1973). Yet, to hear this music, a half century after it was recorded - now wiped of overdubs - reveals some of the most compelling singing of Presley's career. There may not be a better set of tracks in his catalogue that benefits more from un-dubbing the masters. No longer weighted down, Elvis shines.

October 16 - Ronnie Tutt Died

Ronnie Tutt, the steady drummer behind Elvis for most of the seventies, died. He was 83.

Thank you for the music Ronnie, it rocked! Rest in peace.

Ronnie Tutt's wife, Donna, told TMZ, he died Saturday of natural causes at his home in Franklin, TN. She said Ronnie had a longtime heart condition and there was nothing more doctors could do.

"On the Drums from Dallas, Texas, is hard-working Ronnie Tutt" - Elvis Presley.

"Here on earth, his drums are now silent. But from now on when you hear the thunder from above it’s going to have a distinct sound and rhythm." - Elvis Fan on Ronnie Tutt Facebook fan page.

Ronnie Tutt's daughter remembered her father on Facebook: "Humble, loving, talented, god loving, loving father and husband are all words that come to mind when describing my dad. He will live on through his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will hear him in music forever. He lived a great life and is is now released from his suffering. Rock n roll in heaven dad, miss you already! Love you always!".

Tutt was a member of the TCB Band, the core rhythm section of the late King of Rock and Roll's band, from August 1969 until the 'Hound Dog' hitmaker's death in 1977. Beginning the mid-Seventies — while still in the employ of Presley — Tutt became an in-demand touring and session drummer, spending two years in the first incarnation of the Jerry Garcia Band. After the TCB Band disbanded upon Elvis' death,at the age of 42 from a heart attack, Ronnie was invited by Neil Diamond to become his permanent concert and recording session drummer.

Ronnie said, "The two greatest music influences on my life were Elvis Presley and Neil Diamond. Elvis for the flashy, explosive, slightly out of control, style of playing that he needed and Neil for wanting the opposite and a very disciplined drummer."

In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone magazine Tutt talked about the differences between performing alongside Presley and Garcia, often in the same weekend.
“I’d always laugh because one night I’d be in Vegas playing with rhinestone two-piece outfits and the next night I’d be out with Garcia with the tie-dye and a pair of jeans. Socially speaking it was really different,” Tutt said

“Elvis’ music was a lot more in your face; you could never play enough. But with Jerry we never talked about it, but I just knew my role with that band, no matter what configuration it was, was to help keep it together.”

Tutt also reflected on his career - that spanned over 60 years - in the interview: “I just remember the good things, that’s for sure. You got to,” he said. “I just remember laughing a lot and having a good time musically, so I have nothing but good memories.”

Singer Neil Diamond wrote: Our dear friend and bandmate, the legendary Ron Tutt has passed away. It’s been my privilege to share the stage with Ronnie for more than 40 years. He was truly one of the all-time greats in Rock and Roll.  God bless you, Ronnie.  Your wonderful talent will live on as the backbeat to the music of our lives. Give my regards to Elvis, I’m sure he’s glad to get the band back together. We love you, Ronnie.  -Neil Diamond

Priscilla Presley wrote: "Rest In Peace my friend. Your sweet soul and great talent captured us all. Elvis always bragged how you intuitively could keep up with his stage moves. Even when he tried to trick you. :) My heart goes out to you Donna for your loss. And to the TCB band members, James and Glenn." - Priscilla Presley.

Guitarist James Burton wrote: We are in shock. Top of the list drummer, amazing work with any top recording artists and live shows.

The James Burton and Friends show in Nashville, to our knowledge, was the last show that Ronnie played and it was truly an honor to have him give of his talents to the James Burton Foundation to give guitars to kids and vets.  His playing on this show was incredible! TCB.

Playing together over the years was so much fun, it was like a hand in a glove. We knew exactly how to play off each other.

You bet I will always miss him!!!

The wonderful thing is that we know for sure Ronnie is in heaven with God and his family, Elvis and friends.

What a joy for his family to have this knowledge and we love all of them so much.

The James Burton Family.

Bass-player Jerry Scheff posted: "Rest In Peace, Ronnie".

Drummer Jerome Stump Monroe wrote: "Ronnie’s passing is devastating news. He was a mentor and friend. I will always miss him."

Graceland posted: "All of us were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ronnie Tutt. In addition to being a legendary drummer, he was a good friend to many of us here at Graceland. We enjoyed each time he joined us here to celebrate Elvis Week, Elvis’ Birthday and many other special occasions. Ronnie was an amazing ambassador to Elvis’ legacy – sharing his memories of working with Elvis with fans – as well as bringing Elvis’ music to arenas around the globe through later Elvis in Concert shows and performances.

Ronnie Tutt played drums for Elvis as part of the TCB Band from 1969 until 1977. He was part of the original band put together by James Burton for Elvis’ 1969 Las Vegas opening – and stayed with Elvis until his death in 1977. Ronnie later toured with Neil Diamond's band. He also recorded and performed with the likes of Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, Kenny Rogers, Elvis Costello, Stevie Nicks, Michael McDonald, among others.

Our hearts go out to Donna, his family, his fellow TCB Band members – and to his fans around the world. He will be deeply missed by all of us."

Singer Terry Blackwood wrote: "Ronnie Tutt passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family today around noon. He had a profound influence on every drummer who ever picked up sticks.  Not only was he an amazing drummer, he was a devoted husband to Donna, and a wonderful role model ufor his children.
Please pray for Donna and the family as they process the loss of this beloved man.
His was a life well lived by a man who I don’t think had an enemy in the world.
He’s resting now, at peace forever in the arms of God."

Linda Thompson wrote: "I have the fondest memories of one of the world’s greatest drummers EVER - and one of the nicest human beings, Ronnie Tutt! Ronnie was Elvis‘s drummer & friend for all the years I was with Elvis. Yesterday morning, in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his loving family, the final beat of his heart joined the echo of Ronnie‘s drum beats that were heard around the world. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the beautiful Donna Tutt who was Ronnie’s loving wife & devoted life partner for 49 years!"

Larry Geller wrote: "Ronnie was a masterful drummer and a great guy. The world of music and the Elvis world have lost another iconic musician.  Once again, he's rocking with Elvis. May his memory be forever a blessing."

Paiste Cymbals posted: The Paiste family is saddened to hear the news of Ronnie Tutt's passing. A long time member of the Paiste family and a humble legend, Ron generously shared his stories and talent whenever he was around. Touring and recording with Elvis Presley, Jerry Garcia, Neil Diamond and many others, Ronnie was more than a support player, he was a feature. His dynamic playing influenced countless drummers and powered other musicians.

We are honored to have known him.

October 16 - Review Book Elvis June 1956

June 1956 was another busy month for Elvis Presley. As Paul Bélard notes in the preface to his photobook ‘Elvis June 1956’.

The 1956 juggernaut is picking up strength during this month with a series of dynamic live shows across America, appearing on Wink Martindale's ‘Dance Party’ TV show, violating segregation laws in Memphis, outraging media critics and many parents with his burlesque show rendition of ‘Hound Dog’ on The Milton Berle Show and rehearsing for his appearance on The Steve Allen Show as the highlights.

How busy June 1956 was for Elvis is even more apparent when we consider his travel itinerary going from Memphis to Oakland to Los Angeles to San Diego to Long Beach to Phoenix to Tucson before returning to Memphis. Only to get back on the road a few days later making stops in Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta, Charlestown, New York and Richmond.

This graphic biography illustrates our man worked hard getting his career off the ground. All this packed on 220 pages. Nigel Patterson from the >>> Elvis Information Network and Kees Mouwen read the book.

Design

The bright red cover image on this soft-cover photo-folio really catches your eye and transports you to 1956. A great choice that “covers” the content of Elvis rockin' all over the nation and national TV in June 1956.

Before delving into the content of ‘Elvis June 1956’, it is important to understand that Paul Bélard’s photobooks are not designed to be flashy “coffee table” releases. They are intended to provide an historic record of the full Elvis story. They do this through the author’s rigorous research in locating primary source material: photos, interviews, press articles, concert promotion flyers and more. Bélard supplements these with short overview narratives, where necessary.

While the picture-quality and artefacts are inherently of varying quality given their age, they are important “points in time” records and are often underappreciated for their historic relevance in other photobooks, as the quality of these images does not always meet the quality requirements of photobooks.

Using colorized images is a choice by the author who designed the book himself. Some fans do not like colorized photos, but personally, we have no issue with them as long as they are done well. A color image can add some color and even new dimension which provides a fresh viewing experience, something very welcome given the high number of times we often see the same image.

In this regard, it would be interesting to see what Bélard could do working with some serious photo collectors and having access to their photo archives, as many pictures used are available in a higher resolution. ‘Elvis June 1956’ covers just one month in 1956 in a day-by-day time-line. The book offers unexpected insights to our understanding of the Elvis story. Presley’s most widely known number probably is ‘Heartbreak Hotel’, though ‘Tutti Frutti’, and ‘Blue Suede Shoes’ are close behind. Admittedly, ‘Hound Dog’ and ‘Don’t Be Cruel’ weren’t released until July 1956, but seeing ‘Tutti Frutti’ listed as among Elvis’ most well-known songs is surprising.

Looking back now it is interesting to read how 1956 America had trouble labeling this new kid on the block with his new singing style mixing traditional forms of country and R&B music. This is where the detailed day-by-day books by Bélard distinguish themselves from other biographies and photobooks.

The archival material is varied and includes articles with intriguing titles and captions as:

  • “Singing Sensation Causes Near Riot Here” (Long Beach).
  • “The Critics Stayed At Home, And Elvis Was The Greatest” (Don Oberforfer, The Charlotte Observer).
  • “Writhing Singer Has Long Beach Soxers Wailing” (Paul Wallace, The Independent, June 7, 1956).
  • “Elvis Sends 6,400 Here Into Frenzy” (Elinor Hayes, Oakford Tribune, June 4, 1956).
  • “Presley Leaves You In A Blue Suede Funk” (Ralph J. Gleason, The San Francisco Chronicle, June 5, 1956).
  • “The Presley Problem” by fan Diane (Dee) Sutlive.
  • “Bell Auditorium Rocks As Elvis Presley Rolls, Makes Quick Getaway” (S.C Standard and Review, June 28, 1956).

The articles and other material are rich in information and offer a window into what particular people thought of Elvis at the height of his controversial fame. For example, in a case of “what if?”, What Al Jarvis Thinks of Elvis Presley!, a prominent Los Angeles dee jay, comments: “Despite his tremendous success in the recording field, I think Elvis Presley’s greatest talent will be discovered as an actor rather than a singer. This guy is going to be a really great actor.”

Another Los Angeles dee jay, Bill Stewart, was less enthusiastic about Elvis: “Not for me. His records give me intense pain, set to distortion.”

Other press reports have Elvis as a “popular Hillbilly singer”, while Alan Hanson’s commentary on how Elvis was treated with respect by journalist Robert Epps in Savannah illustrates that press stories were not always negative.

‘Elvis June 1956’ also features an eight pages transcript of Elvis and Dewey Phillips’ interview with Wink Martindale on his “Dance Party” TV show.

An article in the Long Beach Independent from June 6, 1956 offered the views of fans, including this evocative passage:

Suddenly, the perfection I’d conjured up about him as he sang switched to a disheartening reality. It would become a theme in my life: fantasies about men would always have their earthly price - the inevitable imperfections. “Hold me close, hold me tight, make me thrill with delight, darling you’re all that I’m living for … I want you, I need you, I love you, more and more .... every time that you’re near, all my cares disappear ... I want you, I need you, I love you, with all my heart” When Elvis sang those words, I was suddenly catapulted into a thrilling, aching, stratosphere of longing that was brand new. Oh, I’d mooned over actors in movie magazines, but I’d never felt anything like this. I could barely move. Or speak.

The visual element is a mix of professionally taken photographs and fan-candids. One of the most interesting is the cover image, which is now colorized, giving a brilliant new feel to its original black and white incarnation, as we now see Elvis in a rich red jacket. Additional glorious images of Elvis wearing the jacket appear later in the book.

Another partly colorized image is similarly interesting, with Elvis and Carl Perkins (in color) surrounded by fans who are in black and white. The contrast between color and black and white is impressive. Elvis and Carl literally jump out-off the photo, which also shows Elvis’ and Vernon’s former secretary Becky Hartley Yancey, who passed away July 14, 2021.

There is also a full-length black and white shot of Elvis on stage with knees bent, mic in hand, and mouth fully open, while Scotty Moore look on. This is how we remember him in 1956.

Also interesting to see - from a 2021 perspective - is Elvis’ appearance on Tuesday June 19th at an African American only event in Memphis, violating segregation laws and sparking an outrage (it also counters claims that Elvis was racist). Belard records:

Elvis chose to attend the black-only event in one of the most racially divided cities in America. He sought no publicity for this, but as usual, he was tailed by photographers. In some pictures, he’s playing one of the throwa-baseball-and-win-a-prize games and being watched by a huge crowd of African-Americans and policemen ... This is the event that led local newspapers to report that Elvis had violated segregation laws when he attended the Memphis Fairgrounds amusement park on “colored night” on this evening.”

This clearly shows that Elvis knew where part of his roots come from and where he wanted to go. Elvis was looking beyond color, and following his heritage and heart.

Elvis and Barabara Hearn canoodling (lip-locked) in the front seat of his automobile, entertaining themselves in a typical 50’s way and walking hand-in-hand. Particularly interesting as they are photographed from behind. They look like just any couple in love on a date.

Other images show Elvis performing to an enthusiastic audience while dwarfed by a huge RCA logo hanging behind him or doing the “splits” on stage in South Carolina. A great, albeit grainy, black and white candid of Elvis with his hair in motion leaning onto the mic stand at the Mosque Theater in Richmond, Virginia.

As you would expect, while the professionally captured photos are very good, some of the candid shots by fans can be dark and grainy, given their age (65 years) and sometimes blown up a bit too much, a better choice would have been to use several smaller images on one page instead. Despite this, most images are still a treat to see.

Paul Bélard only provides two photos in Elvis June 1956 of Elvis’ scandalous June 5 appearance on ‘The Milton Berle Show’, but with an upcoming volume dedicated completely to the show, this is understandable.

‘Elvis June 1956’ maintains the look and feel of previous volumes in the series, and we still believe the author should use another (lighter) color as the page background. The black background can be harsh. Many readers (particularly other researchers) will appreciate that Bélard specifies the source and credits for all the content he has collected and used.

Conclusion

‘Elvis June 1956’ is another well-researched entry in the Paul Bélard series documenting the Elvis story through “primary source” historic visual and archival material. Compiled from various off and on-line sources, it brings together everything from June 1956 in one book. The information contained in the words and images is rich, interesting and sometimes surprising. It offers a robust “point in time” record of what Elvis did and perceptions of him at that time.

Rogier Luyken reviewed 'Elvis Day by Day 2018' for the latest edition of the Dutch It's Elvis Time magazine, volume 296.

He wrote: "I dare say that Kees - author, publisher and also the designer of these books - has outdone himself with this 2018 edition. The book looks top-notch from front to back. The cover is beautiful and inspired by the '68 Comeback Special; after all, in 2018 was the 50th Anniversary of this iconic TV Special of our hero. Each month covers all the news and releases of that month and the highlights are present as extensive reviews. ... An excellent book to read in the coming autumn. As reported, in my opinion Kees has outdone himself with this edition and I am already looking forward to 'Day By Day 2017', but 'Day By Day 2021' will be welcomed too!"

The Waxtime in Color label re-issued 'Elvis' Christmas Album' on 180 Gr. white colored vinyl.

The Glamourama label re-issued 'Elvis Is Back' on a 180 Gr. vinyl LP and includes 'It’s Now or Never' and 'A Mess of Blues' on a yellow colored 7-inch vinyl single.

Doncha Think It's Time For Spliced Takes?

The CMT import label announced the release of two new alternate and spliced takes compilations' 'Elvis 27 - Essential Sixties Splices Volume 3' and 'Doncha' Think It's Time - A new 1958 Album'. Both titles are limited to 500 copies.

Publicity stated: The series continues and focusses on 1962. Elvis was 27 when he recorded all these great tracks.

We created amazing new versions for your listening pleasure. One of the highlights is 'Just Tell Her Jim Said Hello; which has been created using different keys throughout the whole track, it sounds like a brand new song! The classic 'Return To Sender' sounds very different and has a new opening.

Another gem is the version of 'Because of Love' and although there are no outtakes of this song it does sound different than the master, listen to the first words and judge for yourself. Most songs have been extended using different takes which mean just like previous volumes you get more of the songs without using the same portions.

Tracks: She’s Not You (Spliced Take 1, Work Part 2, 1) - Just Tell Her Jim Said Hello (Alternate Master) - Return To Sender (Alternate Master) - Where Do You Come From?(Spliced Take 3, 13, 3) - One Broken Heart For Sale (Spliced Take 2, 3, 1) - They Remind Me Too Much Of You (Spliced Take 6, 1, 4, 4) - Suspicion (Spliced Take 3, 2, 1) - Gonna Get Back Home Somehow (Spliced Take 2, 2, 2, 5, 2, 5, 5) - Easy Question (Alternate Master) - I Feel That I’ve Known You Forever (Spliced Take 4, 3, 1, 3) - You’ll Be Gone (Spliced Take Fals Start, 2, 4) - Fountain Of Love (Spliced Take 6, 6, 6) - Just For Old Time Sake (Spliced Take 3, 4, 1) - Something Blue (Spliced Take 5, 6, 4, 6) - Night Rider (Spliced Take 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 5, 5, 5, 5, 3, 3, 3, 5) - Girls! Girls! Girls! Girls Girls! - I Don’t Want To Be Tied (Alternate Master) - Mama (Spliced Take 2, 8) - Because Of Love (Alternate Master) - A World of Our Own (Extended Master) - I’m Falling in Love Tonight (Spliced Take 6, 5).

The brand new "1958" album 'Doncha' Think It's Time' includes amazing new spliced takes and remastered masters. On the FTD re-issue of the 'King Creole' featured new mixes of the studio masters by Thorne Nogar that featured studio snippets, like small talk and count-ins for the takes. Here we presented these masters without those extra snippets.

Also included are some new and unreleased spliced takes of other songs from 1958 as well as some essential home recordings, also edited for your listening pleasure.

The highlight of this album must be both the "reversed" single and album masters of the title track 'Doncha Think It's Time' using four takes and some elements that were not released at the time, so you get two completely new versions of this great song.

Also not to be missed is the newly created version of 'Ain't That Loving You Baby' which starts of with the slow version and ends with the rockin' version.

Tracks: Doncha Think It’s Time (Reversed Single Master) - Hard Headed Woman (Live Mono Mixes) - Trouble (Live Mono Mixes) - New Orleans (Live Mono Mixes) - Crawfish (Live Mono Mixes) - Dixieland Rock (Live Mono Mixes) - Lover Doll - Don’t Ask Me Why (Live Mono Mixes) - As Long As I Have You (Live Mono Mixes) - Steadfast, Loyal And True - King Creole (Live Mono Mixes) - Young Dreams (Live Mono Mixes) - Danny (Master) - Your Cheatin’ Heart (Take 9) - Wear My Ring Around Your Neck (Undubbed Master) - A Big Hunk O’ Love (Spliced Take 1, 3, 3) - Ain’t That Lovin’ You Baby (Spliced Take  2, 4, 1, 10, 10, 11, 8, 11, 8) - A Fool Such As I (Spliced Take  3, 8) - I Got Stung (Spliced Take 3, 1, 8) - Doncha Think It’s Time (Reversed Album Master) - Her Hand in Mine (Spliced Home Recording) - Are You Lonesome Tonight? (Home Recording) - I Can’t Help It (Spliced Home Recording - I’m Beginning To Forget You (Home Recording) - Apron Strings (Home Recording) - He Knows Just What I Need (Spliced Home Recording).
