October 13 - Birthday and Book Prize Celebrations

EPE announced the details foe the Elvis 2022 Birthday Celebration from January 6-9, 2022, four days of birthday festivities surrounding the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s birthday.

The celebration will include Elvis' Birthday Bash and Evening Christmas Tours, a Gospel Dinner featuring Terry Blackwood and The Imperials, Conversations on Elvis, the Elvis Birthday Pops Concert starring Terry Mike Jeffrey and the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, the annual Birthday Proclamation Ceremony, and more!

Prize Winner

The children’s book 'Elvis, Me, and the Lemonade Stand Summer' by Leslie Gentile won the $5,000 City of Victoria Children’s Book Prize. In their citation, the jury noted Gentile’s “first-rate storytelling, with a surprising plot twist, a twist on the twist, and a believable happy ending.” 

Synopsis: It’s the summer of 1978 and most people think Elvis Presley has been dead for a year. But eleven-year-old Truly knows Elvis is alive and well and living in her trailer park. 

She sets out to prove that the deceased Elvis Presley is not only alive but her next door neighbor.
