January 09 - Harum Scarum Revisited

Due for release from the Popcorn import record label is the 2-LP / 2-CD set 'Harum Scarum'. The set comes on green and on purple colored vinyl. 

Publicity stated: Now available is the second release on the Popcorn label. This amazing double album is completely dedicated to the Harum Scarum sessions.

These sessions, which took place in February & March of 1965, 8 months after the GIRL HAPPY sessions Elvis went back to Studio B at the RCA Studios in Nashville Tennessee. Some overdubs took place at the MGM Sound Stage in Hollywood California 2 weeks later. The sessions resulted in 11 master recordings of which 9 were used in the movie. Wisdom of the ages & Animal Instinct were featured as bonus tracks on the soundtrack lp.

Now you can enjoy these sessions on this deluxe double album.

The 'ELVIS' movie was nominated for an Art Directors Guild 2023 Award in the Feature Film category 'Period Feature Film'. Winners will be named at the ADG Awards ceremony on February 18 at the InterContinental Hotel Los Angeles Downtown Hotel.

1972 Revisited

Just released is the 7-CD-set 'The 1972 Soundboard Collection & More'. 

Publicity stated: This comprehensive deluxe 7 CD set contains all known soundboard recordings recorded during live performances at the Las Vegas Hilton in 1972. All shows are painstakingly remastered, and presented as they were recorded: in glorious mono sound. The included bonus disc set contains 16 rare and official unreleased versions of studio tracks recorded in 1972. This disc includes alternate takes, unedited masters, unreleased mono masters and further unreleased alternate recordings.

Agent King?

'Agent Elvis' has officially moved into the "Coming Soon" stage. 

The Netflix series 'Agent King', now renamed to 'Agent Elvis', was originally planned for 2021 but postponed to 2022. That didn't materialize either, but now a poster from Netflix appeared on Facebook, so who knows ... perhaps this year we'll be able to watch the adventures of this crimefighter.

Synopsis: Previously titled Agent King, Agent Elvis is an adult animated action-comedy coming to Netflix. The upcoming series was created by his ex-wife Priscilla Presley and rock singer John Eddie. The showrunner is Mike Arnold, who co-wrote many episodes of the acclaimed animated hit Archer. Titmouse is the studio behind the art style, which worked on The Legend of Vox Machina and Star Trek: Lower Decks. Check out the synopsis and poster below.

Synopsis

Elvis Presley trades in his white jumpsuit for a jet pack when he is covertly inducted into a secret government spy program to help battle the dark forces that threaten the country he loves - all while holding down his day job as the King Of Rock And Roll.
