Riley Sole Trustee

Today, August 4, 2023, a judge in the Superior Court of California, in the county of Los Angeles, signed off on the documents making Riley the sole trustee of Lisa Marie Presley’s estate.

This means she is the owner of Graceland, and the settlement allows Priscilla Presley to be laid to rest in the Meditation Garden.

33-year-old actor and musician was approved by LA Superior Court on Friday, August 4, according to court documents. The new ruling also allows Keough to preside over the sub-trusts for her twin sisters, Harper and Finley. Riley also retains sole ownership of Elvis Presley’s Graceland estate, which Lisa Marie inherited following his 1977 death.

While Riley did not openly address the earlier legal battle or Priscilla’s ealier claims, it was confirmed in May that they settled the case.

The two women had agreed to make Riley the sole trustee of Lisa Marie’s estate with the twins serving as sub-trustees. Per the agreement Priscilla receives a one-time lump sum of US$1 million from the estate account.

On a side note, in the September 2023 issue of Vanity Fair Riley Keough confirmed that her daughter's name is "Tupelo".

Riley, who is battling Lyme disease, confirmed in the interview that her daughter arrived via surrogate. "I can carry children, but it felt like the best choice for what I had going on physically with the autoimmune stuff,” Riley said.

In the same interview she said: “When my mom passed, there was a lot of chaos in every aspect of our lives. Everything felt like the carpet had been ripped out and the floor had melted from under us. Everyone was in a bit of a panic to understand how we move forward, and it just took a minute to understand the details of the situation, because it’s complicated. We are a family, but there’s also a huge business side of our family. So I think that there was clarity that needed to be had.”

And clarity’s been had? She smiles: “Clarity has been had.”

Are things with Grandma happy?

“Things with Grandma will be happy,” Keough says. “They’ve never not been happy.” She pauses to assemble her thoughts. “I’m trying to think of a way to answer it that’s not a 20-minute conversation.” Another long pause. “There was a bit of upheaval, but now everything’s going to be how it was. She’s a beautiful woman, and she was a huge part of creating my grandfather’s legacy and Graceland. It’s very important to her. He was the love of her life. Anything that would suggest otherwise in the press makes me sad because, at the end of the day, all she wants is to love and protect Graceland and the Presley family and the legacy. That’s her whole life. So it’s a big responsibility she has tried to take on. None of that stuff has really ever been a part of our relationship prior. She’s just been my grandma.”

Sold!

A custom-made mink coat worn by Elvis Presley during the last year of his life has sold for more than US$100,000 at auction.

The famous garment was purchased for US$165,000 by a U.S. collector when it went under the hammer at Henry Aldridge & Son in Devizes, Wiltshire.

The whopping sale price is more than ten times what it originally went on sale for in July. The King of Rock 'n' Roll rummaged through his closet at Graceland and picked it out for his fiancee's brother shortly before he died in 1977.

Elvis was romantically involved with 20-year-old Ginger Alden and wanted her brother Mike Alden to have the coat because he was fond of him. The picture shows Elvis wearing the coat while still dating Linda Thompson.

Elvis' gold owl-shaped ring was also sold for US$18,000 at the auction.
