Elvis at No. 1
Elvis Presley is the King, and his legacy has long been secure. The rocker has nothing left to prove to the world, but his music continues to live on. Now, decades after he passed away, the legendary musician is back at No. 1 on a Billboard chart.
On the latest edition of the Rock Streaming Songs chart, Presley climbs to No. 1. The singer-songwriter is back atop a Billboard tally with his favorite 'Blue Christmas'. The tune ranks as the most-streamed cut in the U.S. classified by the company as rock, with that determination being a bit subjective.
'Blue Christmas' reaches the No. 1 spot on the Rock Streaming Songs chart for the first time this year, but it’s actually risen to the summit before. The tune first peaked at the top of the tally back in December of 2018. It debuted on the roster in 2015–decades after it was first released, though that makes sense, as Billboard only began incorporating activity from streaming platforms in the past decade or so.
The song is one of Presley’s several hits on the Rock Streaming Songs chart. He has now sent just three tunes to the list, with two of them reaching the top 10. These two hits return to prominence every winter, and this trend seems like it will continue for the foreseeable future, as Americans can’t get enough of these seasonal smashes.
