August 07 - New Box with Unreleased Material

Graceland / EPE updated the Elvis Week 2021 program with a new event: "Elvis -Special Listening Session and Live Unboxing Taping', set for August 12th.

Description: Be among the very first to hear previously unreleased Elvis music – and witness the live taping of a special “unboxing” video for a yet-to-be-announced Elvis Presley box set – at this very special panel. Hosted by Tom Brown and mixing engineer Matt Ross-Spang, you can be in the audience while they talk in detail about the background of the new collection and play never-before-heard music!

Note: This release could be tied to the 50 years copyright legislation. Record companies have to release recorded material within 50 years after recording it to secure their copyrights for years to come. Elvis recorded various Christmas, Gospel and country tracks in Nashville in May and June 1971, 50 years ago. Last year we got the 'From Elvis In Nashville' box.

Another hint in the Elvis Week program is a "50th anniversary concert celebrating Elvis’ Nashville recording sessions".

Studio Engineer Matt Ross-Spang has previously worked on 'From Elvis in Nashville', 'The Jungle Room Sessions', 'Live 1969', and he has mentioned working on unreleased live concerts which could be part of a the future 'On Tour' release.

But we'll know more on August 12th.
