August 16 - Elvis Is Still Alive!

Today marks 49 years since we lost Elvis Presley, a loss that broke millions of hearts around the world. 

But his legacy feels as alive as ever. From Sun Records to Vegas stages, the Elvis reshaped music and culture in ways that still ripple through every genre today. 

On this day, we honor the life and enduring legacy of Elvis Presley, whose influence continues to inspire generations.His achievements are truly "EPIC", the records, the movies, the sold-out concerts, the sheer scale of what one artist could become. Even decades later, he remains in the spotlight, day by day. Fans across generations keep his music, his moves, and his story close to their hearts. 

Rest In Peace Elvis, the music never stopped.

As fans from all over the world made their pilgrimage to Memphis to mark the 49th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley, his former wife, Priscilla Presley, recalled their life together in an emotional social media message.

Though Priscilla did not attend this year's annual Candlelight Vigil at Graceland, she did honor the memory of her late former husband, posting a remembrance of Elvis. On Instagram, she shared a photo of the King with a quote at the top: "Some loves never leave us. They live quietly in our hearts, in our memories, and in the moments we never forget.

Remembering Elvis today, and always," she wrote at the bottom of the post, which was accompanied by Elvis' 'An American Trilogy'.

Nancy Sinatra posted a beautiful teibute: It’s hard to fathom that it has been almost half a century since we lost Elvis Presley. Another year, another sad anniversary.

Elvis was both the funniest person and the most serious person I ever knew. One minute, he could have me laughing with some silly joke, and the next, he would be on the phone late at night, talking about a terrible story he had seen on the news.

Elvis was extremely sensitive. He had the biggest heart. He felt everything. Beneath the fame was a man who was deeply affected by the world around him and by the people he loved. That tender, caring side of him is something I will never forget.

This is my favorite photo of us because it captures the joy and affection we shared. We had so much fun making Speedway! Elvis had a tandem bike made, and we would ride it around the studio lot, much to the chagrin of the studio heads, occasionally even popping up on a studio tour. We were like The Katzenjammer Kids!
