Elvis Conference in Portugal
The annual conference of the CIAC-Centre for Research in Arts and Communication of the University of Algarve (Portugal), is dedicated this year to “Elvis Presley and popular culture in the 20th century XX”.
The event taking place in Faro, Portugal, on February 24, 2022, will have as keynote speakers Mark Duffett (Chester University, United Kingdom), author of 'Counting Down Elvis: His 100 Finest Songs' and 'Elvis: Roots, Image, Comeback, Phenomenon' and Mathias Haeussler (Regensburg University, Germany), author of 'Inventing Elvis: An American Icon in a Cold War'.
The event will also have the participation of three CIAC researchers, and will have as a special guest, Douglas Brode, author of the book 'Elvis Cinema and Popular Culture'.
